Technological University (Kalay)
Technological University (Kalay) ( my, နည်းပညာတက္ကသိုလ် (ကလေး)) is a technological university under the Ministry of Science and Technology. It is situated in the Tharyarwady village, south of the Kalay, Sagaing Region, Myanmar.It was established as Government Technical Institute on 1999. Then it was changed into Government Technological College on 2001 and upgraded into University on 2007. Kalay
Kalay ( my, ကလေး), also known as Kale, is a town in the Sagaing Region of Myanmar. It is located upstream from Mandalay and Monywa on the Myittha River, a tributary of the Chindwin River. The town is the district headquarters of the Kalay District. It has gained importance with trans border movement enabled between Myanmar and India following the Tamu–Kalay section of India–Myanmar–Thailand Trilateral Highway built by the Border Roads Organization of India under the Look-East Connectivity policy. Consequently, Kalay is now one of the fastest developing towns in Myanmar. Kalay has several notable prisons, to which people from all across the region are transported. Sagaing Region ( my, စစ်ကိုင်းတိုင်းဒေသကြီး, ; formerly Sagaing Division) is an administrative region of Myanmar, located in the north-western part of the country between latitude 21° 30' north and longitude 94° 97' east. It is bordered by India's Nagaland, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh States to the north, Kachin State, Shan State, and Mandalay Region to the east, Mandalay Region and Magway Region to the south, with the Ayeyarwady River forming a greater part of its eastern and also southern boundary, and Chin State and India to the west. The Technological University, Monywa ( my, နည်းပညာတက္ကသိုလ် (မုံရွာ)) is located on a 48.209 acre campus in Minywa, Sagaing Division, Myanmar. It was established in 1982 as Technological High School. In 1986 it became Government Technological Institute. In 1999 it was promoted to Government Technological College (GTC). In 2007 the GTC was upgraded to university status.
