Techno Destructo is a former character in the American heavy metal band Gwar, depicted as their long-term nemesis. The character was portrayed and created by Gwar co-founder Hunter Jackson. Character overview Techno Destructo is described coming "from beyond Venus, beyond Jupiter, and that's way past Uranus, buddy," and that he "drinks multi-lube and jerks off to ''Popular Mechanics''." Gwar, often stylized as GWAR, is an American heavy metal band formed in Richmond, Virginia in 1984, composed of and operated by a frequently rotating line-up of musicians, artists and filmmakers collectively known as Slave Pit Inc. Ragnarök is the fifth album, released on October 24, 1995 on Metal Blade Records, by the rock/ heavy metal/punk band Gwar. This album contains the most varied vocal stylings of any Gwar album, as the majority of the band lends their vocals to the track list (only ''We Kill Everything'' features as many different vocalists), as well as guest villain Cardinal Syn. ''We Kill Everything'' is the seventh album by Gwar, released on April 6, 1999 through Metal Blade Records. Story The album's story differs slightly from the version told in "It's Sleazy" and on tour. The first three tracks on the album do not follow one particular story, and focus on Gwar's generally decadent ways. The fourth, "A Short History of the End of the World (Part VII (The Final Chapter (abbr.)))", begins (though an instrumental, it is explained that it refers to Gwar fighting the Master - the incident that led to their exile) the story, which continues through the title track. This story chronicles Gwar's relationship with their Master, and the aftermath of their defiance. The album’s lyrical content was inspired by controversy over obscenity charges against the band and an incident in Charlotte, North Carolina in which frontman Dave Brockie’s prosthetic penile attachment, ''"The Cuttlefish of Cthulhu"'', was confiscated by police officers. Overview The lyrical content in ''America Must Be Destroyed'' was greatly inspired by Dave Brockie's fight with police officers while touring in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1990. The name referred to an eight-sided polyhedral die common in such games. Unlike other gaming magazines, ''d8''’s focus was not on gaming systems and rules, but rather the art of role playing and the cultural, pop-cultural, and subcultural interests of the people who played games.
