Team San Juan
Team San Juan (Spanish: Equipo San Juan) is a men's professional 3x3 basketball club based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The team plays in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour, of which it was the first champion by winning the inaugural tournament in 2012. Team San Juan was among the founding teams of Puerto Rico’s domestic 3x3 league, N3XT. History 2012, World Tour champions Composed by Andrés Ortiz, Jonathan García, José López and William Orozco, Team San Juan made its debut in the first edition of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour. The team opened its participation at the 2012 New York Masters on August 18, 2012, as part of Pool A. In its first game Team San Juan defeated NY Bronx 21:7. In the second game, they outlasted Dallas 21:7. Team San Juan reached the time limit for the first time in a 16:12 win over Edmonton. FIBA 3x3 World Tour
The FIBA 3x3 World Tour is an international tour of men's 3x3 basketball teams representing cities. The tournament is organized by FIBA. The FIBA 3x3 Pro Series and FIBA 3x3 Women Series were launched in 2019. Qualification The FIBA 3x3 Men's Pro Circuit refers to the system or network of FIBA-sanctioned men's 3x3 competitions for city-based professional teams. 3x3 basketball (pronounced ''three-ex-three'') is a variation of basketball played three-a-side, with one backboard and in a half-court setup. According to an ESSEC Business School study commissioned by the International Olympic Committee, 3x3 is the largest urban team sport in the world. This basketball game format is currently being promoted and structured by FIBA, the sport's governing body. Its primary competition is an annual FIBA 3X3 World Tour, comprising a series of Masters and one Final tournament, and awarding six-figure prize money in US dollars. The Baloncesto Superior Nacional, abbreviated as BSN, is the first-tier-level professional men's basketball list of basketball leagues, league in Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1929 and is organized by the Puerto Rican Basketball Federation. Basketball At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's 3x3 Tournament
The 2020 Summer Olympics men's 3x3 basketball tournament in Tokyo, began on 24 and ended on 28 July 2021. All games were played at the Aomi Urban Sports Park. It was originally scheduled to be held in 2020, but on 24 March 2020, the Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of this pandemic, the games were played behind closed doors. Latvia won the title after defeating the Russian Olympic Committee team in the final, while Serbia captured the bronze medal over Belgium. The medals for the competition were presented by Nenad Lalović, Serbia; IOC Executive Board Member, and the medalists' bouquets were presented by Andreas Zagklis, Greece; FIBA Secretary General.
