Team EY
Team EY (Team East York Skateboarding) is a youth group which promotes a positive skateboarding community in the East York area of Toronto. History Officially formed in 1998, Team EY has worked to create a welcoming skateboarding community for both new and current skateboarders. Team EY began with word-of-mouth contests hosted for free in local schoolyards and do-it-yourself skateboard videos featuring local talent. Over the years it continued to grow and connected with other local community groups and city councilors to foster better understanding and acceptance of skateboarding in East York. The culmination of these relationships was the construction of the permanent East York Skatepark at Stan Wadlow Park in 2006. East York
East York is a former administrative district and municipality within Toronto, Ontario, Canada. From 1967 to 1998, it was officially the Borough of East York, a semi-autonomous borough within the upper-tier municipality of Metropolitan Toronto. The borough was dissolved in 1998 when it was amalgamated with the other lower-tier municipalities of Metropolitan Toronto to form the new "megacity" of Toronto. Prior to its amalgamation, East York was Canada's last remaining borough. It is separated by the Don River from the former City of Toronto. Janet Davis
Janet Davis is a former city councillor in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She represented Ward 31 Beaches-East York (now Ward 19), the northern portion of Beaches—East York, from 2003 to 2018. She is well known for her work on affordable day care and preserving public pools in the city. John Lorinc
John Lorinc is a Canadian journalist, whose book ''Dream States: Smart Cities, Technology, and the Pursuit of Urban Utopias'' won the Balsillie Prize for Public Policy in 2022.
