Teachings In Silence
''Teachings in Silence'' is a compilation album by Norwegian collective Ulver. Issued through American independent label Black Apple Records in March 2002, it combines ''Silence Teaches You How to Sing'' and '' Silencing the Singing'', originally issued in September and December 2001, respectively. It was subsequently released in Europe one year later by Norwegian record company Jester Records. Due to the experimental nature of the music, both ''Silence'' EPs were limited to two thousand, and three thousand copies. The two EPs combined was released as a double LP in 2014 by Ampullae Audio. The release was limited to 500.Repressed by Jester Records in CD format in year 2017. This release was nominated for a ''Spellemannprisen'' in 2003; an award presented to Norwegian musicians, in the 'Electronic' category. Ulver
Ulver (Norwegian for "wolves") is a Norwegian experimental electronica band founded in 1993, by vocalist Kristoffer Rygg. Their early works, such as debut album '' Bergtatt'', were categorised as folklore-influenced black metal, but the band has since evolved a fluid and increasingly eclectic musical style, blending genres such as experimental rock, electronica, ambient, trip hop, symphonic and chamber traditions, noise, progressive and experimental music into their oeuvre. 1997 marked their international debut with the release of their third album ''Nattens madrigal'' through German label Century Media. However, following discord with the label, Rygg formed his own imprint, Jester Records, in 1998. Silence Teaches You How To Sing
''Silence Teaches You How to Sing'' is an EP by Norwegian experimental electronica band Ulver. Recorded and mixed in February 2001, the EP was issued by Jester Records in September 2001. Loosely recorded during the sessions for the ''Perdition City'', together with '' Silencing the Singing'', the EP is a subtle counterpart to the more dramatic full-length, issued in March 2000. The style is more atmospheric and less beat-oriented than the music on ''Perdition City''. Due to the experimental nature of the music, both ''Silence'' EP’s were limited to 2000 and 3000 copies, respectively. However, both were re-released as one disc, issued through American independent label Black Apple Records, under the title ''Teachings in Silence'', in November 2002. ''Sinister'' is a 2012 supernatural horror film directed by Scott Derrickson and written by C. Robert Cargill and Derrickson. It stars Ethan Hawke as a struggling true-crime writer whose discovery of videos depicting grisly murders in his new house puts his family in danger. Kristoffer Rygg
Kristoffer Rygg (born 9 September 1976), also known as Garm, Trickster G. Rex and God Head, is a heavy-metal vocalist, musician and producer known primarily for his work with Ulver, Arcturus, and Borknagar. Biography Born in Oslo but raised in Cascais, Kristoffer Rygg was 16 years old when he formed Ulver, considered one of the most iconic bands from the Norwegian black metal scene. He was an instrumental instigator for later subcategories such as avant-garde metal. In addition, he was vocalist for Borknagar (1995–1997) and Arcturus (1993–2003), both of which comprise many eminent musicians from the early Norwegian black metal scene. Spellemannprisen, often referred to as the Norwegian Grammy Awards in English, is a Norwegian music award presented to Norwegian musicians. The award was established by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), an organization that represents the interests of the recording industry worldwide.
