Latex is an emulsion (stable dispersion) of polymer microparticles in water. Latices are found in nature, but synthetic latices are common as well. Texas Rangers (baseball)
The Texas Rangers are an American professional baseball team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Rangers compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) American League West, West Division. The team was founded as the Washington Senators (1961–1971), Washington Senators in 1961, an expansion team awarded to Washington, D.C., after Washington Senators (1901–1960), its previous team became the Minnesota Twins. The new Senators relocated to Arlington, Texas after the season and debuted as the Rangers the following spring. In 2020, the Rangers moved to the new Globe Life Field after having played at Globe Life Park (now Choctaw Stadium) from 1994 to 2019. Big Tex
Big Tex is a tall figure and marketing icon of the annual State Fair of Texas held at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas, United States. The figure has become a cultural icon of Dallas and Texas. Since 1952, Big Tex has served as a cultural ambassador to visitors, and the figure's prime location in the fairgrounds serves as a traditional meeting point. On October 19, 2012, the last weekend of the 2012 State Fair of Texas, Big Tex was destroyed by an electrical fire that started in the right boot and worked its way up the structure, first becoming visible from the neck area. Nestlé Tex
Nestlé Tex, stylised as TEX, is a South African candy bar made by Nestlé. Overview Tex was created in around 1955 by Rowntree's, and first sold in Canada (around the same time as Coffee Crisp). The bar combines the aerated chocolate of Aero with the wafers of a Kit Kat, and is covered in milk chocolate. Rowntree's launched Tex to the South African market in 1956, where it had more success and is still sold to this day. Rowntree's was later acquired by Nestlé, and now Tex is under the Nestlé brand. Tex was later discontinued in Canada, but is still available via import shops catering to South African expats. As of February 2015, Tex weighed 40 grams. It is easy to spot with its yellow wrapper. TEX (chemical name 4,10-dinitro-2,6,8,12-tetraoxa-4,10-diazatetracyclo[5.5.0.05,9.03,11]-dodecane) is a dense (ρ = 1.985 g cm−3) nitramine high explosive, that derives from the very powerful and sensitive high explosive CL-20. Though related to CL-20 in that is shares the same cage structure, TEX is more easily synthesized in good yield from inexpensive starting materials. Unlike CL-20, TEX is friction insensitive, bears a low impact sensitivity, and possesses a very low shock sensitivity and large critical diameter, making it an interesting explosive filler for insensitive munitions. Its systematic name, 4,10-dinitro-2,6,8,12-tetraoxa-4,10-diazatetracyclo[5.5.0.05,9.03,11]-dodecane derives from its tetracyclic structure. Tex Hal Earnhardt (December 9, 1930 – April 19, 2020) was an American entrepreneur born in Southern Texas. He was the founder and CEO of Earnhardt Auto Centers, an automotive dealership company based in Chandler, Arizona. Early life and education Earnhardt grew up around the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. He moved with his family to Chandler in the late 1940s. Earnhardt dropped out of school in the 10th grade.
