Charles Tazewell
Charles Tazewell (June 2, 1900 – June 26, 1972) was an actor, radio playwright, and children's book author, whose work has been adapted multiple times for film. Life Charles Tazewell was born in 1900 in Des Moines, Iowa, and began acting while still in high school. Theater In 1923, he had a small part in the Theatre Guild's ''Peer Gynt'' at the Garrick Theatre. In 1924, he appeared in the Guild's production of Ernst Toller's ''Man and the Masses''. Later that year, he was in Sidney Howard's '' They Knew What They Wanted''. The play premiered on November 24, 1924, and closed in October 1925, after 192 performances. He wrote other children's books including ''The Small One'', which The Walt Disney Company adapted into the animated short of the same name in 1978. His book ''The Littlest Snowman'' was also adapted into a film as a segment of ''Christmas Fairy Tale'' (12 minutes). Henry Tazewell
Henry Tazewell (November 27, 1753January 24, 1799) was an American politician who was instrumental in the early government of Virginia, and a US senator from Virginia. He was also a slave owner. Tazewell served as President pro tempore of the United States Senate in 1795. Early life Born in Brunswick County, Virginia, Tazewell was the son of Littleton and Mary Gray Tazewell. He attended the rural schools and graduated from the College of William and Mary at Williamsburg, Virginia, in 1770. He married Dorothea Elizabeth Waller on January 13, 1774, who were the parents of Littleton Waller Tazewell, who became a senator and governor of Virginia, and a daughter, Sophia Ann. Career Tazewell studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1773, and began his practice. During the American Revolutionary War, he raised and was commissioned captain of a troop of cavalry. Littleton Waller Tazewell (December 17, 1774May 6, 1860) was a Virginia lawyer, plantation owner and politician who served as U.S. Representative, United States Senate, U.S. Senator and the List of Governors of Virginia, 26th Governor of Virginia, as well as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates. Tazewell Ellett (January 1, 1856 – May 19, 1914) was a one-term United States House of Representatives, U.S. Representative from Virginia from 1895 to 1897. Biography Born in Richmond, Virginia in 1856, Ellett attended private schools in Richmond. He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute at Lexington in 1876. He was graduated from the University of Virginia Law School in 1878 and immediately commenced practice in Richmond. He later served as member of the board of visitors of the Virginia Military Institute. Tazewell Thompson (born May 27, 1948), is an African-American theatre direction, theatre director, the former artistic director of the Westport Country Playhouse (2006–07) in Westport, Connecticut, Westport, Connecticut and the Syracuse Stage (1992–95) in New York (state), New York state. Prior to that he was an assistant director at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. He is the Director of Opera Studies at Manhattan School of Music.
