Tazenda (album)
Tazenda is a Sardinian ethnic pop-rock band. The group was formed in Sardinia in 1988 by Andrea Parodi, Gigi Camedda and Gino Marielli. The group's music is characterized by the influence from traditional Sardinian music; the lyrics of most of its songs are in Sardinian language (especially in its Logudorese dialectal variety) rather than Italian. The name of the band was taken from Second Foundation, a novel of the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov. In the novel the planet "Tazenda" (the name of which comes from the English expression "Star's End") plays an important role. The choice, according to Tazenda, of this name was because of an assonance with their own language. Arbus, Sardinia
Arbus () is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of South Sardinia in the Italian region of Sardinia. Located in the southwest coast of the island, Arbus is known for several archeological and non-operational industrial sites, such as the mines of Montevecchio, as well as for its coastline, the Costa Verde, whose main beach, Piscinas, includes one of the biggest sand dune systems in Europe. Fortza Paris ("Forward Together") is a regionalist political party in Sardinia. The party was launched in 2004 at the merger of the Sardinian People's Party (PPS), Sardistas and Unity of Sardinian People. Its self-proclaimed ideology comprises "all what the 20th Century had it good", including Christian democracy, liberalism, social democracy and federalism, but it is basically a Christian-democratic party. The Orgosolo mural ( sc, murales) is the mural painted in Orgosolo, Province of Nuoro, in Sardinia, Italy. It is being investigated based on historical and anthropological approach. Background The village of Orgosolo is located about 17 miles from Nuoro, the provincial capital. Despite the geological seclusion, the murals have rich content, from countryside view to global history. Sardinia has about 250 paintings and 150 of those are in the village of Orgosolo. Emergence of the mural The Orgosolo mural emerged in the late 60s. It was during that time that Italy's economic miracle collapsed by massive strikes and social unrest. Especially, the later 1973 oil crisis abruptly terminated this boom. Thus, murals became a major expression of the social discontent.
