Taymouth, New Brunswick
Taymouth is a settlement in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. It is located 14.78 km SW of Boiestown, on the Canadian National Railway line, in Stanley Parish and St. Mary's Parish, York County. The community is centred around the intersection of Route 148 and Route 628. The former school has been turned into the Taymouth Community Centre, in which one upper floor room has become a fitness centre. Boiestown, New Brunswick
Boiestown (1991 population: 349) is a Canadian community in the rural community of Upper Miramichi in Northumberland County, New Brunswick. It is situated on the Southwest Miramichi River approximately 60 kilometres northeast of Fredericton, near the province's geographic centre on Route 8 and the eastern terminus of Route 625. Boiestown's post office was established in 1842. Boiestown is home to the Central New Brunswick Woodsmen's Museum. Nearby attractions include Priceville Footbridge, the longest suspension footbridge in New Brunswick, and Nelson Hollow Bridge, the oldest covered bridge in the province. Boiestown is the setting for ''Peter Emberley'', a well-known traditional ballad and the favourite lumbering song of New Brunswick. Stanley Parish, New Brunswick
Stanley is a civil parish in York County, New Brunswick, Canada. For governance purposes it is divided between the village of Stanley, the incorporated rural community of Upper Miramichi, and the local service district of the parish of Stanley. Upper Miramichi is a member of the Greater Miramichi Regional Service Commission (GMRSC), the others of Regional Service Commission 11 (RSC11). Origin of name The parish takes its name from the settlement of Stanley, in turn named for Lord Stanley, Secretary of State for War and the Colonies at the time and an early supporter of the New Brunswick and Nova Scotia Land Company that promoted settlement of the area. York County (2016 population 99,411) is located in west-central New Brunswick, Canada. The county contains the provincial capital, Fredericton. Outside the city, farming and forestry are two major industries in the county, which is bisected by the Saint John River. The Southwest Miramichi River flows through the northern section of the county. History York County was established in 1785, named after the second son of King George III, Prince Frederick-Augustus (1763-1827), who was made Duke of York in 1784. By 1831, the top half was highly populated, due to the rich soil in the region, so it was split off to become Carleton County. Route 148 is a north-south secondary highway in New Brunswick, Canada. Most of the route was previously part of Route 8 prior to the opening of the extended Marysville Bypass. Route 628 is a long mostly north–south secondary highway in the eastern portion of New Brunswick, Canada. The route starts at Route 148 in Taymouth where it travels south along the east bank of the Nashwaak River. The road passes through Durham Bridge, Nashwaak and Manzer. From here, the route travels through Penniac and past Penniac Island before it ends as it crosses the Nashwaak River on a bridge to Route 8.
