Tayai
''Tayai'' is a 2008 Manipuri film directed by K. Bimal Sharma and produced by Gokul Athokpam under the banner of Subhas and Sons'. It stars Gokul Athokpam, Kaiku Rajkumar, Lairenjam Olen, Huirem Seema, Prameshwori and Laishram Binata in the lead roles. The premiere show of the movie was held at Asha Cinema on 16 November 2008 and censored in 2009. The film got official selection at the 7th Manipur State Film Festival 2010. Synopsis ''Tayai'' aka ''Yaima'' is an orphan. He is adopted by ''Ibochouba's'' father. He grows up to be a guy of cheerful and joyous nature. An incident happens where Ibochouba's wife ''Tharo'' falls victim to the blackmailing done by her ex-lover. It leads to ''Tharo'' initially falling into debt trap and later killing her ex-lover. Kaiku Rajkumar
Rajkumar Kaiku (born ) is an Indian actor, who has appeared in Manipuri films. Kaiku made his film debut with the 2003 romantic film ''Kalpana''. He has appeared in more than 400 Manipuri films. Some of his films are ''Ta-Tomba the Great'', ''Nungshit Mapi'', and ''Mami''. In addition to films, he has also worked in ''Shumang Kumhei'' including ''Border''. He contested the 2019 Parliamentary election in the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha Constituency as an independent candidate. In February 2022, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Early life and background ''Kaiku'' was born on 3 January 1974 in Dimapur, Nagaland to RK Modhusana and RK Ongbi Reba. Huirem Seema
Huirem Seema (''full name:'' Huirem Ningol Laimayum Ongbi Seema; 8 November 1970 - 17 September 2011) was an Indian actress from Imphal, Manipur. She had appeared in more than 100 Manipuri films. As a producer, she had four Manipuri digital films to her credit. She was best known for her roles in movies like ''Kanaga Hinghouni'', ''Chang Shi Chang'', '' Lakhipurgi Lakhipyari'', ''Naoshum'', ''Yumleima Lamleima'' and ''Thasi Thanou''. Two films where she acted, namely ''Yenning Amadi Likla'' (feature) and ''Ngaihak Lambida'' (non-feature) made entries into the Indian Panorama of the International Film Festival of India. Shougrakpam Hemanta
Shougrakpam Hemanta (born 1969) is an Indian comedian, actor, writer and director, who has worked in various Shumang Kumhei plays and Manipuri films. He is well known for his role of ''Oja Tolhan'' in ''Eegi Mahao'' and his portrayal of the titular role in the movie ''Mantri Dolansana''. In 2017, he was conferred with the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in recognition of his contribution in the traditional Meitei theatre of the Shumang Kumhei. The Cinema of Manipur is the film industry based in Manipur, India. It includes not only Meitei language movies but all the films made in different languages of the different communities in Manipur. The Manipuri film industry was born when ''Matamgi Manipur'' was released on 9 April 1972. Before this, there were many attempts to make a film in the state, the most significant being ''Mainu Pemcha'' in 1948 which was left incomplete due to various problems. The tradition of documentary film making in Manipur was said to have been pioneered by the late Maharaj Kumar Priya Brata Singh who shot "actuality movies" with his 8 mm camera in 1936.
