Taxidermia
''Taxidermia'' is a 2006 Hungarian surrealist comedy-drama horror film directed and co-written by György Pálfi. An international co-production of Hungary, Austria and France, the film spins a metaphorical socio-political retelling of Hungary's history from the Second World War to the present day. With elements of dark comedy and body horror, the story is told by means of three generations of Hungarian men, commencing with a WWII military orderly, moving on to a Cold War-era aspiring speed-eater, and concluding with a modern day taxidermist. It received positive reviews. The ''Boxset'' (also referred to as ''Amon Tobin'') is the 6- LP, 7- CD, 2-DVD compilation boxset by the Brazilian electronic musician Amon Tobin, released on 25 May 2012, on Ninja Tune. György Pálfi
György Pálfi (born 11 April 1974 in Budapest, Hungary) is a Hungarian filmmaker. His film ''Taxidermia'' was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. Pálfi's films have received numerous awards and nominations. At the 2002 European Film Awards, he won the European Discovery/Fassbinder Award for his début film ''Hukkle''. At Les Arcs European Film Festival in 2014, Pálfi won the first annual ARTE International Prize for the best project in development, ''The Voice'', about a son searching for his father, a scientist who went missing 30 years ago. Two of Pálfi's films have been Hungary's submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film: ''Hukkle'' and ''Taxidermia''. Amon Adonai Santos de Araújo Tobin (born February 7, 1972), known as Amon Tobin (), is a Brazilian electronic musician, composer and producer. 2006 Cannes Film Festival
The 59th Cannes Film Festival was held from 17 to 28 May 2006. Twenty films from eleven countries were in competition for the Palme d'Or. The President of the Official selection Jury was Wong Kar-wai, the first Chinese director to preside over the jury. English director Ken Loach won the Palme d'Or with his movie '' The Wind That Shakes the Barley''. Weighted Arithmetic Mean
The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others. The notion of weighted mean plays a role in descriptive statistics and also occurs in a more general form in several other areas of mathematics.
