Tawfique Nawaz
Tawfique Nawaz is a Bangladeshi lawyer and director of Transparency International Bangladesh. He is married to Dipu Moni, the Minister of Education and former Minister of Foreign Affairs. He is a senior advocate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. Career Nawaz published ''The New International Economic Order'' in 1980 with the University of Michigan. He was a research associate to Kamal Hossain while studying at the Wadham College, Oxford. From 1979 to 1981, he served as a director of Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs. In 1993, Nawaz was an honorary director of Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs. He was the Coordinator of Human Rights Project of Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs. Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) is the Bangladeshi branch of the Berlin-based Transparency International, a civil society organisation dedicated to fighting against corruption. History TIB started its activities in 1996. In 2016 it criticised new government rules on NGOs that received foreign funding. It also asked the government to not take a 2 billion dollar development loan from the world Bank. Xulhaz Mannan
Xulhaz Mannan ( bn, জুলহাজ মান্নান; 12 October 1976 – 25 April 2016) was an employee of the United States embassy in Dhaka and the founder of Bangladesh's first and only LGBT-themed magazine, '' Roopbaan''. He was killed in his apartment along with another LGBT activist Mahbub Rabbi Tonoy in a machete attack by Islamist extremists. Early life and education Mannan's mother is a retired education ministry officer, and his father, who died several years ago was actively involved with the Bangladeshi independence movement in 1971. Medinipur or Midnapore (Pron: med̪iːniːpur) is a city known for its history in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the headquarters of the West Medinipur district. Pannalal Ghosh
Pandit Pannalal Ghosh ( bn, পান্নালাল ঘোষ; 24 July 1911 – 20 April 1960), also known as Amal Jyoti Ghosh, was an Indian flute ( bansuri) player and composer. He was a disciple of Allauddin Khan, and is credited with popularizing the flute as a concert instrument in Hindustani classical music and also the "Pioneer of Indian Classical Flute". Early life Pannalal Ghosh was born on 24 July 1911 in Barisal, Bengal Presidency, British India. He was named Amal Jyoti Ghosh with Pannalal having been his nickname. Muhammad Yunus
Muhammad Yunus (born 28 June 1940) is a Bangladeshi social entrepreneur, banker, economist and civil society leader who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for founding the Grameen Bank and pioneering the concepts of microcredit and microfinance. These loans are given to entrepreneurs too poor to qualify for traditional bank loans. Yunus and the Grameen Bank were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize "for their efforts through microcredit to create economic and social development from below". Zafar Sobhan (Born 1970) is a Bangladeshi attorney, editor and political commentator. He is editor of the ''Dhaka Tribune''. He is a former football player too.
