Tau Cross (band)
Tau Cross is a rock band founded by Rob Miller of England's Amebix. Controversy Tau Cross' third album, ''Messengers of Deception'', was originally scheduled for release on August 9, 2019, via Relapse Records. In July 2019, however, Relapse chose to sever its relationship with the band and cancel the album's release due to Miller's inclusion of Gerard Menuhin, a Holocaust denier, in his thanks list, submitted to the label in the late stages of production. Shortly thereafter the other four members of the band issued a joint statement expressing their lack of previous knowledge about, and desire not to be associated with, Menuhin's work and Miller's interest in it. Within a week Miller had "released" guitarist Andy Lefton and drummer Michel Langevin and made an ambivalent public statement about the status of the remaining members, expressing his resolve to continue the band alone if necessary. Crust Punk
Crust punk (also known as crust or stenchcore) is a form of music influenced by English punk rock and extreme metal. The style, which evolved in the early 1980s in England, often has songs with dark and pessimistic lyrics that linger on political and social ills. The term "crust" was coined by Hellbastard on their 1986 ''Ripper Crust'' demo.Glasper 2009, 185 Crust is partly defined by its " bassy" and "dirty" sound. Gothic Rock
Gothic rock (also called goth rock or simply goth) is a style of rock music that emerged from post-punk in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s. The first post-punk bands which shifted toward dark music with gothic overtones include Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Bauhaus, and the Cure. The genre itself was defined as a separate movement from post-punk. Gothic rock stood out due to its darker sound, with the use of primarily minor or bass chords, reverb, dark arrangements, or dramatic and melancholic melodies, having inspirations in gothic literature allied with themes such as sadness, nihilism, dark romanticism, tragedy, melancholy and morbidity. Prong is an American heavy metal band formed in New York City in 1986. The band is fronted by guitarist/vocalist Tommy Victor, Prong's sole constant member. To date, they have released 12 studio albums (including a covers album), one live album, four EPs, one DVD and one remix album. Joy Division
Joy Division were an English rock band formed in Salford in 1976. The group consisted of vocalist Ian Curtis, guitarist/keyboardist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook and drummer Stephen Morris.
