is a Japanese former singer, television presenter, and bassist for the Johnny & Associates group Tokio. Career He has acted in several movies and television shows as well as being a co-star for Tokio's variety shows ''Tokio Kakeru'' and ''The Tetsuwan Dash''. On 25 April 2018, news broke that Yamaguchi had been referred to prosecutors for allegedly kissing a girl against her will at his home in Minato, Tokyo, in February 2018. At a hastily-arranged news conference at a hotel in Tokyo on 26 April, Yamaguchi apologized for kissing and engaging in indecent behavior with a high school-aged girl. A lawyer representing Johnny & Associates, the talent agency that manages Tokio, announced that Yamaguchi would be indefinitely suspended from activities. was a Japanese singer and actor. He was best known outside Japan for his international hit song "Ue o Muite Arukō" (known as " Sukiyaki" in English-speaking markets), which was sung in Japanese and sold over 13 million copies. It reached number one in the United States ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in June 1963, making Sakamoto the first Asian recording artist to have a number one song on the chart. He was also the first Japanese artist to have a number one single on the Australian singles chart.
