Tate Ratledge
Tate Collier Ratledge (born April 26, 2001) is an American football offensive guard for the Georgia Bulldogs. He won two national championships with the Bulldogs. Early life Ratledge attended Darlington School in Rome, Georgia, where he competed in football, basketball and track and field. Coming out of high school Ratledge was ranked the number 39 overall player in the 2020 class, the number five rank at his position and number six in the state of Georgia. Ratledge committed to play college football at the University of Georgia over Tennessee whom he grew up rooting for. College career As a freshman in 2020, Ratledge played in just one game, playing a total of seven snaps. He earned a starting spot as a sophomore ahead of the season opener against Clemson, but suffered a Lisfranc ligament fracture in a foot after just four snaps and missed the rest of the season. Outland Trophy
The Outland Trophy is awarded to the best college football interior lineman in the United States as adjudged by the Football Writers Association of America. It is named after John H. Outland. One of only a few players ever to be named an All-American at two positions, Outland garnered consensus All-America honors in 1898 as a tackle and consensus honors as a halfback in 1899. Outland had always contended that football tackles and guards deserved greater recognition and conceived the Outland Trophy as a means of providing this recognition. In 1988, Jim Ridlon was commissioned to design and sculpt the Outland Trophy. 2021 Clemson Tigers Football Team
The 2021 Clemson Tigers football team represented Clemson University during the 2021 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Tigers were led by head coach Dabo Swinney, in his 14th year.
