Tata Open India International Challenge
The India International Challenge is an international badminton tournament, which is held annually in India. During its first two editions, it was a domestic tournament. Since 2010, it became an international tournament with the grading of International Challenge. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Aparna Balan
Aparna Balan (born 9 August 1986) is an Indian badminton player from Kozhikode, Kerala. She was part of the national team that won the silver medal in 2010 Commonwealth Games, also gold medals in 2004, 2006 and 2010 South Asian Games. She is 6 times National Champion in mixed doubles and 3 times National Champion in women's doubles. She represented India in many international badminton tournaments. Shendy Puspa Irawati
Shendy Puspa Irawati (born 20 May 1987) is an Indonesian badminton player from PB Djarum club. She won the bronze medals at the 2009 Southeast Asian Games, 2011 Summer Universiade, and at the 2013 Asian Championships. Career Irawati competed women's doubles in BWF Super Series at the 2008 Indonesia Super Series, 2009 Malaysia Super Series, and 2009 Korea Open Super Series with her partner, Meiliana Jauhari. Their best result were in the Indonesia and Malaysia where they became to the semi-finalists. Fran Kurniawan
Fran Kurniawan Teng (born 1 April 1985) is an Indonesian badminton player from PB Djarum who specializes in doubles. In 2011, he became the determinant for the Indonesian team to qualified from the group stage at the 2011 Sudirman Cup. In the end, Indonesia won the bronze medal at that competition. Della Destiara Haris (born 8 December 1992) is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Jaya Raya Jakarta club. Akshay Dewalkar (born 2 July 1988) is an Indian badminton player. He was the men's doubles National Champion together with Pranav Chopra in 2013 and 2015. Pranav Chopra
Pranaav Jerry Chopra (born 6 September 1992) is an Indian badminton player. He joined the India national badminton team in 2007. In the year 2018, at the Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Queensland, he won the gold medal in mixed team as being a member of the Indian mixed team. He is only the second player from India to reach Top 15 in the World Rankings in Mixed Doubles with his partner. Childhood and early training Pranaav started training at the age of 7. He became the national champion twice in the boys doubles U-13 and U-19 events. At the U-19 level, he won a record nine titles in a year. If he is in the city, he used to train at Badminton Academy in the Shastri Hall, at Ludhiana. He lived in South City and later he joined Gopichand Badminton Academy, Hyderabad.
