Tata Football Academy
Tata Football Academy (Tata FA or TFA) is an association football academy situated in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India, sponsored by Tata Steel, which owns ISL outfit Jamshedpur FC. It is one of the renowned football academies in India. History Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata envisaged not only Asia's first fully integrated Steel Plant but also the model township of Jamshedpur. He advised his son, Sir Dorab Tata, to earmark "areas for Football, hockey and Parks... ". Tata Steel's commitment to sports, in fact, preceded the building of the township. JRD Tata Sports Complex
The JRD Tata Sports Complex Stadium is a 40,000-capacity (often limited to 24,424 for ISL games) stadium in Jamshedpur, India. It is currently used mostly for association football matches and athletics competitions. It has been the home stadium of Jamshedpur FC since the 2017–18 season. The Bordoloi Trophy, also known as the Bharat Ratna Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Trophy, is a premier annual Indian football tournament held in Guwahati and organized by Guwahati Sports Association (GSA). The tournament was first started in 1952 and is named after Assam's first chief minister Gopinath Bordoloi. 2016 IFA Shield
The 2016 IFA Shield (officially known as the LG IFA Shield 2016 for sponsorship reasons) was the 120th edition of the IFA Shield. The tournament is designed as a U19 youth football tournament since 2015. This year ten football clubs going to participate including two overseas football clubs. The winners of LG IFA Shield was awarded with an amount of 5 Lakhs, while the second seeded team will get an amount of 3 Lakhs. The tournament was managed by Ekalavya Sports Foundation, run by former international Kalyan Chaubey and other TFA graduates. Tata Football Academy became the champions of the tournament by beating AIFF Elite Academy on 6 March 2016 which was played at Mohun Bagan Ground. The score was even 2–2 during the regulation time. IFA Shield
The IFA Shield is an annual football competition organized by the Indian Football Association. The IFA is the governing body of football in the state of West Bengal, came into existence in 1893. Named after the association, the IFA Shield tournament was started in the same year. It is the third oldest football tournament in India, after Durand Cup and Trades Cup, and the one of the oldest football competitions in the world. The royal houses of Patiala and Cooch Behar, A.A. Apcar of Armenian Club and J Sutherland of Dalhousie AC had financially contributed for the inception of the Shield. The coveted shield was designed by Walter Locke & Co. 2013 I-League U20
The 2013 I-League U20 was the fifth season of the Indian I-League U20 competition. The season took place during the I-League break between February and March. The tournament began on 6 March in Jamshedpur at the facilities which are currently used by Tata Football Academy. The stadiums were officially announced on 29 January 2013 as the JRD Tata Sports Complex and the Gopal Maidan. Then on 6 February 2013 it was announced by I-League club Pune F.C. that the I-League U20 would be played between 15 clubs separated into 3 groups of five each with former I-League 2nd Division clubs SESA Football Academy and Tata Football Academy joining the U20 league while Pailan Arrows would not send an under-20 side to the tournament as they are already a developmental side in the I-League.
