Camillo Tarquini
Camillo Tarquini (27 September 1810 in Marta, located in the Montefiascone region of Italy – 15 February 1874 in Rome) was an Italian Cardinal, Jesuit canonist and archaeologist. Tarquini entered the Society of Jesus on August 27, 1837. Prior to his entrance, Tarquini had published a thesis for his doctorate on canon law: ''Institutionum juris canonici tabulae synopticae juxta ordinem habitum a Joanne Devote'' (Rome, 1835). As a professor, Tarquini held the chair of canon law at the Roman College, and he attracted notice by his explanations of sacred scripture at the Gesu. Besides his published works, he contributed many articles to reviews, notably to the ''La Civiltà Cattolica, Civiltà Cattolica''. It is principally as a canonist that he achieved fame. Gabriele Tarquini (born 2 March 1962) is an Italian racing driver. He participated in 78 Formula One Grands Prix, debuting on May 3, 1987. He scored a single championship point, and holds the record for the most failed attempts to qualify. He has subsequently raced successfully in Touring Cars, winning the BTCC in 1994, the ETCC in 2003 the WTCC in 2009 and the WTCR in 2018. On 22 November 2009 he won the 2009 FIA World Touring Car Championship title at the age of 47 years and 266 days. This made him the oldest ever world champion in an FIA series, breaking Juan Manuel Fangio's record of being FIA Formula One World Drivers' Champion at the age of 46 years and 41 days in 1957. Jonatan Gabriel Tarquini (born 27 June 1994) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a forward. Career Tarquini became a senior player for Unión Santa Fe of Primera B Nacional in May 2014. Tarquinia Tarquini (1882 - 25 February 1976) was an Italian dramatic soprano and the wife of composer Riccardo Zandonai. Biography Born in Colle di Val d'Elsa, Tarquini studied singing at the Milan Conservatory and privately in Florence. She made her stage debut in 1905 and spent the next two years performing in opera houses throughout Italy. In 1907 Tarquini was brought to the United States by impresario Henry Russell to join his Boston-based San Carlo Opera Company. She made her debut with the company in Boston as Santuzza in ''Cavalleria rusticana'' and then embarked on a North American tour with the company. That same year she also performed the title role in the United States premiere of ''Adriana Lecouvreur'' at the French Opera House in New Orleans. Vittoria Tarquini, (3 March 1670 – 1746) also known as La Bombace and Bambagia, was an Italian soprano singer of the Baroque era. She was one of the most celebrated singers of her time and was considered one of the best, if not the greatest, tragic opera singer. Career Born in the parish of San Pantalon in Venice, Tarquini had her first known performance in 1685, aged 14, at the Teatro San Angelo there. According to Beth Glixon, she was probably the victim of a rape that same year because Vittoria's father brought a charge of rape a few months later before the three chiefs of the Council of Ten; it is not known what ultimately became of the case.
