Tariku Birhanu
Tariku Birhanu ( am, ታሪኩ ብርሃኑ; 1983 – 10 December 2022), also known by stage name Baba, was an Ethiopian film actor and director. He has worked about 40 films notably ''Hiwot Ena Sak'', ''Kebad Mizan'', ''Wondime Yakob'' and ''Ye’Arada Lij''. On 10 December 2022, Tariku died from undisclosed illness at the age of 38. His funeral service was held at Holy Trinity Cathedral on 12 December, with many celebrities and relatives presented at the event. He was survived by his son, and wife who is a popular actress named Kalkidan Tibebu. Life Tariku Birhanu was born in 1983 (according to some sources) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, although official obituaries did not mention his exact birth date. He began acting career earlier at his age, spanning from acting to directing, which brought him popular in the Ethiopian film industry scene. Holy Trinity Cathedral (Addis Ababa)
Holy Trinity Cathedral, also known in Amharic as Kidist Selassie, is the highest ranking Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo cathedral in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was built to commemorate the Ethiopian victory over Italian occupation and is an important place of worship in Ethiopia, alongside other cathedrals such as the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion in Axum. Title The cathedral bears the title "Menbere Tsebaot", or "Pure Altar". Built in 1942, the church compound was the burial place for those who fought against the Italian occupation, or those who accompanied the Emperor into exile from 1936 to 1941. The Emperor Haile Selassie and his consort the Empress Menen Asfaw are buried in the north transept of the cathedral. Other members of the Imperial Family are buried in the crypt below the church. Ethiopian National Theatre
The Ethiopian National Theatre is a national theatre in central Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Overview Formerly known as the Haile Selassie I Theater, the hall had begun to be built during the Italian occupation as the Cinema Marconi with some 350 seats. The building was later completed in 1955 for the celebrations of the Silver Jubilee, and expanded to seat 1260 people. The theatre group was founded by the government in the late 1940s, with the main objective of playing Music of Ethiopia, Ethiopian songs by soloists accompanied by a modern orchestra. The Austrian composer Franz Zelwecker became the first director of the National Theater. The theater is divided into two directorates, one for theater and the other for music.
