Taree Railway Station
Taree railway station is located on the North Coast line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the town of Taree, opening on 5 February 1913 when the line was extended from Dungog. It was the terminus of the line until it was extended to Wauchope on 12 April 1915. It had extensive locomotive servicing facilities, including an eight road roundhouse. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. Platforms & services Taree has one platform with a yard opposite. Daily northbound XPT services operate to Grafton, Casino and Brisbane, with three southbound services operating to Sydney. It is also served by daily coach services to Broadmeadow. These coach services are operated by Busways as routes 150 and 151. Description The main station building is a brick, type 11 initial side building design completed in 1913, with a refreshment room added in 1929. Taree
Taree is a town on the Mid North Coast, New South Wales, Australia. Taree and nearby Cundletown were settled in 1831 by William Wynter. Since then Taree has grown to a population of 26,381, and is the centre of a significant agricultural district. It is 16 km from the Tasman Sea coast, and 317 km north of Sydney. Taree can be reached by train via the North Coast Railway, and by the Pacific Highway. Taree railway station is on the North Coast line of the NSW TrainLink network. Casino railway station is a heritage-listed railway station on the North Coast line in New South Wales, Australia. Opening on 22 September 1930, it serves the town of Casino in the Richmond Valley Shire. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. History The original Casino railway station (now named Old Casino railway station) opened on 19 October 1903 when the Murwillumbah line was extended from Lismore, ultimately reaching Grafton in 1905. However, when the North Coast line was extended from Kyogle to the Queensland border, it would not pass through the Old Casino railway station, as that segment of the line would become a branch line to the new mainline. A goods shed is a railway building designed for storing goods before or after carriage in a train. A typical goods shed will have a track running through it to allow goods wagons to be unloaded under cover, although sometimes they were built alongside a track with possibly just a canopy over the door. There will also be a door to move goods to or from road wagons and vans, this sometimes is parallel to the rail track, or sometimes on the side opposite the rail track. Broadmeadow railway station is a major regional interchange located on the Main North Line. The station itself serves the Newcastle suburb of Broadmeadow. The station was first opened on 15 August 1887.
