Tarboro High School
Tarboro High School is a high school in Tarboro, North Carolina and is part of the Edgecombe County Public Schools district. It is one of four high schools in the district. History Tarboro High School was first established in 1881. Tarboro Colored School, which became known as W. A. Pattillo High School, served Tarboro's African American students. The schools merged and its teams integrated in 1970. In the 1970s the school had a high number of suspensions, affecting the academic performance of students. To address the issue, it became one of the earliest schools in the North Carolina and Virginia area to use in-school suspension in place of the traditional out of school suspension. Edgecombe County Public Schools was established in 1993. In 1999, the school served as a temporary shelter for thousands of people affected by Hurricane Floyd. Tarboro, North Carolina
Tarboro is a town located in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, United States. It is part of the Rocky Mount Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, the town had a population of 10,721. It is the county seat of Edgecombe County. The town is on the opposite bank of the Tar River from Princeville. It is also part of the Rocky Mount-Wilson-Roanoke Rapids CSA. Tarboro is located near the western edge of North Carolina's coastal plain. It has many historical churches, some dating from as early as 1742. Tarboro was chartered by British colonists in 1760. Located in a bend of the Tar River, it was an important river port, the head of navigation on the Tar River just east of the fall line of the Piedmont. 1987 Washington Redskins Season
The 1987 season was the Washington Redskins' strike-shortened 56th season in the National Football League (NFL), their 52nd in Washington, D.C. and their seventh under head coach Joe Gibbs. The season was a shortened season due to the 1987 NFL strike. The team had finished second in the NFC East the previous season with a 12–4 record. Games to be played during the third week of the season were canceled, and replacement players were used to play games from weeks 4 through 6. The Redskins won the NFC East with an 11–4 record. Tyquan Lewis
Tyquan Lewis (born January 30, 1995) is an American football defensive end for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Ohio State, and high school football at Tarboro High School. High school career Lewis played high school football for Tarboro High School in Tarboro, North Carolina, where he was part of multiple state championship teams. As a senior, he was named to the Associated Press' North Carolina all-football team. Coming out of high school, Lewis was rate a four-star prospect by major recruiting services. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. Harry William Hull Jr. (August 4, 1940 – May 3, 2020) was an American football defensive end who played in the American Football League (AFL) for the Dallas Texans in 1962. Career Hull played college football at Wake Forest and was selected by the National Football League's Chicago Bears in the 3rd round (35th overall) of the 1962 NFL Draft and the AFL's Boston Patriots in the 5th round (38th overall) of the 1962 AFL Draft but did not play for either team. Todd Jerome Gurley II (born August 3, 1994) is an American former football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for six seasons, primarily with the Los Angeles Rams. Kenneth Shaun Draughn ( "drone"; born December 7, 1987) is a former American football running back. He played college football at the University of North Carolina. The Milwaukee Brewers Wall of Honor is an exhibit located at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, that commemorates baseball players, coaches, executives, and broadcasters who have made significant contributions to the Milwaukee Brewers Major League Baseball team and meet set criteria regarding career milestones or service time.
