Tapdog is an Australian Thoroughbred racehorse who became the first horse to win the unlisted Geraldton Gold Cup three times. He is a brown gelding that was foaled on 9 October 1997. Tapdog was bred in New South Wales by Doomland Pty Ltd. He is by Bletcharm and his dam Starjazz (Ireland) was by Dancing Dissident (USA). He was sold at the 1999 yearling sale in Scone, New South Wales. His owners are Peter H. Day, Hans J. Hoiskar, and Peter R. Day. He was trained by Clive Lauritsen in Geraldton, Western Australia. Bletchingly
Bletchingly (1970–1993) was an Australian Thoroughbred racehorse and stallion. A brilliant sprinter, he was by the successful speed stallion Biscay out of Coogee (GB) (by Relic (USA)). Bletchingly was bred by Stanley Wootton on the Baramul Stud in the Widden Valley, and was a three-quarter brother to another high-class sprinter, Beaches (by Todman). Stanley Wootton had imported Bletchingly's grandsire, Star Kingdom (IRE), from the United Kingdom in the 1950s, and the Irish stallion established Australia's foremost 20th century sireline. Racing career Thought by his owner to be too small and unsound for a long racing career, Bletchingly was unraced as a two-year-old and won his only start as a three-year-old at the provincial track of Bendigo. The Thoroughbred is a horse breed best known for its use in horse racing. Exmouth, Western Australia
Exmouth is a town on the tip of the North West Cape and on Exmouth Gulf in Western Australia, north of the state capital Perth and southwest of Darwin. The town was established in 1967 to support the nearby United States Naval Communication Station Harold E. Holt. It is named after Exmouth Gulf. Beginning in the late 1970s, the town began hosting United States Air Force personnel assigned to Learmonth Solar Observatory, a defence science facility jointly operated with Australia's Ionospheric Prediction Service. Ascot Racecourse is the major racecourse in Perth, Western Australia, situated approximately east of the Perth central business district, with the headquarters of the Perth Racing positioned directly opposite. It is regarded as the "grand old lady" of Australian racecourses.
