The Taoyuan Arena () is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena located in Taoyuan City, Taoyuan County, Taiwan, Taoyuan County, Taiwan. The capacity of the arena is 15,000 and was opened in 1993. The 2022–23 Taoyuan Pauian Pilots season was the franchise's 3rd season, its third season in the P. LEAGUE+ (PLG), its 3rd in Taoyuan City. The Pilots signed Iurgi Caminos as their head coach. On October 6, 2022, the team was renamed Taoyuan Pauian Pilots. Draft The Pilots acquired 2022 first-round draft pick from New Taipei Kings in exchange for 2021 first-round draft pick. The Pilots acquired 2022 first-round draft pick and Chieng Li-Huan from Formosa Taishin Dreamers in exchange for Lin Yao-Tsung and Wu Chia-Chun. Yen Hsing-su
Yen Hsing-su (; born 8 September 1976), also known as Johnny Yen, is a Taiwanese basketball coach and former basketball player, singer and actor. Since 2017 he has been the assistant coach of the Chinese Taipei men's national basketball team. From 2015 to 2017 he coached the Fubon Braves in Taiwan's Super Basketball League. Nicknamed "The Basketball Genie" (籃球精靈) for his playmaking skills, Yen was a regular of the Chinese Taipei national basketball team from 1997 to 2003. At the 2003 ABC Championship, he led the tournament in assists (4.7 per game), but retired soon afterwards to pursue a career in entertainment. In the years to follow, he led the boy band 183 Club and also starred in many popular TV dramas. He returned to professional basketball in 2007 and permanently retired in 2010. Cheng Chih-lung (basketball)
Cheng Chih-lung (born 29 August 1969) is a Taiwanese basketball coach and retired basketball player, as well as a former politician as a member of the Legislative Yuan of the Republic of China. Cheng played small forward for the Chinese Taipei national basketball team and started as shooting guard for his professional clubs in Taiwan's Chinese Basketball Alliance and mainland China's Chinese Basketball Association mostly in the last decade of the 20th century. During his prime, he was widely recognized as one of the best offensive players in Asia. He was also the first Taiwanese player to play in the Chinese Basketball Association. After a brief but controversy-packed political career following his retirement as a player in 2001, Cheng has returned to basketball to coach in Taiwan's Super Basketball League since 2007. 2021–22 Taoyuan Pilots Season
The 2021–22 Taoyuan Pilots season was the franchise's 2nd season, its second season in the P. LEAGUE+ (PLG), its 2nd in Taoyuan City. The Pilots were coached by Cheng Chih-Lung in his first year as head coach. On March 23, the Pilots announced that Cheng Chih-Lung resigned as head coach. On March 25, the Pilots named Yen Hsing-Su as their interim head coach. Draft The Pilots' 2021 first-round draft pick was traded to New Taipei Kings in exchange for 2022 first-round draft pick. 2020–21 Taoyuan Pilots Season
The 2020–21 Taoyuan Pilots season was the first season of the franchise in the P. LEAGUE+ (PLG), first season overall, and its first in the Taoyuan City and playing home games at Taoyuan Arena. The Pilots were originally coached by Liu Yi-Hsiang, Liu resigned as head coach on December 22, 2020, due to personal matters. Yang I-Feng is currently acting as head coach temporarily.
