Legislative Yuan
The Legislative Yuan is the unicameral legislature of the Republic of China (Taiwan) located in Taipei. The Legislative Yuan is composed of 113 members, who are directly elected for 4-year terms by people of the Taiwan Area through a parallel voting system. Originally located in Nanking, the Legislative Yuan, along with the National Assembly (electoral college) and the Control Yuan (upper house), formed the tricameral parliament under the original 1947 Constitution. The Legislative Yuan previously had 759 members representing each constituencies of all provinces, municipalities, Tibet, Outer Mongolia and various professions. Until democratization, the Republic of China was an authoritarian state under Dang Guo, the Legislative Yuan had alternatively been characterized as a rubber stamp for the then-ruling regime of the Kuomintang. Luzhu District () is a district in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, home to 165,914 people. The downtown district, known as Nankan, is now a high density, high-rise suburb for many who work in Taipei and Taoyuan City. The first opened shopping center in Taiwan, Taimall, located in Nankan, is a weekend destination for many Taoyuan regional residents. Guishan District
Guishan District () is a district in northeastern Taoyuan City, Taiwan. History Guishan was formerly known as ''Kulunsia'' ( (Ku-lun-siā))). The name originated from a hill by the Mercy Buddha Temple of Shou Shan Rock, built in 7th year of the Qianlong Period of the Qing Dynasty. The plains aborigines and Ketagalan tribes were located here. From 1920 to 1945, was under Tōen District, Shinchiku Prefecture. In 1950, it was renamed to ''Kueishan''. Taoyuan District (), formerly known as Taoyuan City () prior to the establishment of the special municipality of Taoyuan in 2014, is a district of Taoyuan City in northwestern Taiwan. The municipal seat of Taoyuan City is situated within its borders. It is the most populous district among the 13 districts of Taoyuan City, and the second most populous among the districts of Taiwan, with the most populous being Banqiao District in New Taipei City. Cheng Yun-peng (; born 2 June 1973) is a Taiwanese politician politician. He was a member of the Legislative Yuan from 2005 to 2008, and elected to the office between 2016 and 2024. Early career Born in Taipei on Dihua Street, Cheng's father graduated from National Cheng Kung University and is a supporter of Tangwai movement. Yun-peng is the second son of the family; he has a brother, Yun-hung. Cheng graduated from National Taiwan University with a degree in Civil Engineering. When he was a junior, he campaigned with Chen Shui-bian in the Taipei mayoral election. Taoyuan () is a special municipality of the Republic of China (Taiwan) located in northwestern Taiwan, neighboring New Taipei City to the north-east, Yilan County to the south-east, and Hsinchu County to the south-west. Taoyuan District is the seat of the municipal government and which, along with Zhongli District, forms a large metropolitan area.
