Tanzomat
Tanzomat is the tenth studio album by German synthpop group And One, released in 2011. The album was released along with a live CD featuring recordings from their ongoing tour. A single, "Zerstörer", was released prior to the album, but only the two B-sides, "Sex Drive" and "No Song for You" appeared on the album. Some new tracks were played on their current tour, but never made it to the record. Tanzomat is the band's final release with Out of Line Records. It is also the final album featuring founding member Chris Ruiz as well as Gio van Oli. Reception Reception for the album has been mostly positive. Steelberry Clones said "Long-time fans of the band will appreciate the fact that the satire-tinged and versatile mix is very much going back to the roots of the early works of And One." And One is a German new wave, synthpop and EBM band founded by Steve Naghavi and Chris Ruiz in 1989. History The band formed after Steve Naghavi and Chris Ruiz met in 1989 at a Berlin club. Being fans of early EBM music, Naghavi and Ruiz decided to follow in the footsteps of new wave/synthpop band Depeche Mode by using two keyboards and a beatbox. Jason Ankeny of AllMusic called their 1990 single, "Metal Hammer", a "significant club hit". The duo became a trio with the addition of Alex Two, prior to the release of their debut album, ''Anguish'' in 1991. That same year, they were honored as the Best New Artist in western Germany. Going into the release of ''Anguish'', they had already garnered a decent following through touring and appearances at various parties. With their debut release, they took home the Best New Artist award in Germany in 1991. Chris Ruiz left in 1992 (he would later return in 2001) while Steve Naghavi remained with the band. Synthpop
Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a subgenre of new wave music that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. It was prefigured in the 1960s and early 1970s by the use of synthesizers in progressive rock, electronic, art rock, disco, and particularly the Krautrock of bands like Kraftwerk. A heavy fighter is a historic category of fighter aircraft produced in the 1930s and 1940s, designed to carry heavier weapons, and/or operate at longer ranges than light fighter aircraft. To achieve performance, most heavy fighters were twin-engine, and many had multi-place crews; This was in contrast to light fighters, which were typically single-engine and single-crew aircraft. In Germany, they were known as ''Zerstörer'' ("destroyer"). The heavy fighter was a major design class during the pre-World War II period, conceived as long-range escort fighters or heavily-armed bomber destroyers. Most such designs failed in this mission, as they could not maneuver with the more conventional, single-engine fighters, and suffered heavy losses.
