	Tanougou Falls Tanougou Falls is a waterfall in the Atakora mountains on the edge of the Pendjari Game Park in the north of Benin about 20 km northeast of Tanguiéta. The waterfall is about 15 meters high and has a purported flow rate of 1.5 m3 per second, though this is subject to great seasonal fluctuation. The flow is strongest during the rainy season, which lasts from May to September. The natural pool at the base of the waterfall is popular for swimming. 	Pendjari National Park The Pendjari National Park (french: Parc National de la Pendjari) lies in north western Benin, adjoining the Arli National Park in Burkina Faso. Named for the Pendjari River, the national park is known for its wildlife and is home to some of the last populations of big game like the African forest elephant, lion, hippopotamus, African buffalo, and various antelopes in West Africa. The park is also famous for its richness in birds. The Pendjari National Park has an area of and is part of the WAP complex (W National Park, W-Arli National Park, Arli-Pendjari), a large protected area in Benin, Burkina Faso and Niger. 	Tanguiéta Tanguiéta is a town, Arrondissements of Benin, arrondissement and Communes of Benin, commune located in the Atakora Department of Benin.The commune covers an area of 5465 square kilometres and as of 2013 had a population of 74,675 people. As of 2007 the town had an estimated population of 21,290. It lies on the RNIE 3 highway which connects it to Natitingou. Tanguiéta was the departmental seat of government during French colonial empires, French colonial rule.
