Tanner Hall
Tanner Hall (born October 26, 1983) is an American freeskier. Biography Hall, nicknamed 'Ski Boss', was born in Kalispell, Montana where he grew up skiing at Big Mountain, now named Whitefish Mountain Resort, starting at age three. He joined the freestyle ski team at age 10, skiing moguls and aerials until age 15 when he moved to Park City, Utah to pursue freeskiing. His first major competition was the US Open in Vail, Colorado In 2002, Hall co-founded the freeride ski company Armada Skis with skier JP Auclair and photographer Chris O'Connell. Hall is also part owner of the Retallack Snowcat Operation near Nelson, BC, Canada, along with skiers Seth Morrison and the young Algerian/Canadian Mehdi Trari. Simon Dumont
Simon Francis Dumont (born July 9, 1986) is an American freestyle skier. Skiing Dumont is known for his exceptional amplitude in half-pipe competitions, regularly reaching heights up to 20 feet out of the pipe, and for his signature big-air trick, the superman double-frontflip. In 2006-07, Dumont overshot a 100-foot jump in Park City, Utah, by some eighty feet, landing flat, rupturing his spleen and breaking his pelvis in three places, but he returned to skiing only two months later. In 2009 he won the X Games Big Air competition by landing a double-frontflip. Dumont has participated in many freestyle events, mostly in the categories of big air and half-pipe, and was part of Team America for the Jon Olsson Super Sessions (JOSS) along with American freestyle skiers Tom Wallisch, and Alex Schlopy. Whitefish Mountain Resort
Whitefish Mountain Resort is a ski resort in the western United States, located at Big Mountain in northwestern Montana. It is west of Glacier National Park in the Flathead National Forest, from the town of Whitefish, west of Columbia Falls, and north of Kalispell. History Winter Sports, Inc. Slopestyle
Slopestyle is a winter sport in which athletes ski or snowboard down a course including a variety of obstacles including rails, jumps and other terrain park features. Points are scored for amplitude, originality and quality of tricks. The discipline has its roots in action sports like skateboarding and BMX and has very successfully crossed over into the snow sports worlds of skiing and snowboarding. Skiers use Twin-tip skis for their symmetry since they often go large portions of the course backward (referred to as "switch") and for their balanced weight so as to not destabilize spins. Chad's Gap
Chad's Gap is a backcountry gap located in the Wasatch Mountains, approximately northeast of Alta Ski Area, in northern Utah, United States. One version of the structure's discovery has it that Chad Zurinskas, a local Utah resident after whom the gap was purportedly named, discovered it as a gap between two piles of mine tailings in 1999 and arranged with filmmaker Kris Ostness to make the first successful jump. Seth Morrison is a professional skier. He has won many competitions and has appeared in a number of ski movies. He is best known for jumping off cliffs from extreme heights. Early life . Jean-Philippe Auclair (August 22, 1977 – September 29, 2014) was a Canadian freeskiier. He was born in Sainte-Foy, Quebec. JP helped Salomon launch the 1080 ski in 1998 and in 2002, along with fellow freeskier Tanner Hall founded Armada skis, a freestyle-only skiing company and remained a member of their "Pro Team" since Nov. 11, 2002. His sponsors included Armada skis, Orage Clothing, Giro Helmets, Level Gloves, JoyStick Poles, D-Structure, Mount Seymour, Stoneham, and SnowParkNZ. Auclair was known for various styles of facial hair, from a long goatee in the mid 90s to a Magnum, P.I. mustache over the turn of the millennium. Auclair also took roles in many ski movies, including the 2012 release of Sherpas Cinema's ''All.I.Can''.
