Tanner Green
Tanner Green (born March 3, 1993) is a Canadian professional gridiron football fullback for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). University career Following high school, Green did not play football and had work as an industrial painter and in the oil field on pipelines. After four years away from the game, he joined a recreational team where teammates suggested that he play football in university. Green sent tape to several universities and opted to join the Concordia Stingers of U Sports football, where he played from 2016 to 2017. He played in 12 games where he recorded six carries for 11 yards and one touchdown in addition to one reception for five yards. Professional career Green was drafted in the fourth round, 32nd overall, by the Edmonton Elks in the 2018 CFL Draft and signed with the team on May 16, 2018. Fullback (gridiron Football)
A fullback (FB) is a position in the offensive backfield in gridiron football, and is one of the two running back positions along with the halfback. Fullbacks are typically larger than halfbacks and in most offensive schemes the fullback's duties are split among power running, pass catching, and blocking for both the quarterback and the other running back. Many great runners in the history of American football have been fullbacks, including Jim Brown, Marion Motley, Bronko Nagurski, Jim Taylor, Franco Harris, Larry Csonka, John Riggins, Christian Okoye, and Levi Jackson. 2020 CFL Season
The 2020 CFL season would have been the 67th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it would have been the 63rd season of the Canadian Football League. It was originally scheduled to begin on June 11; on April 7, the start of the season was delayed to begin no sooner than July due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The CFL planned to obtain financial assistance from the federal government. In May, the CFL delayed the season to no sooner than September, and announced that the Grey Cup was to be played as a home advantage game rather than as a neutral site game in Regina, Saskatchewan, as originally planned. The 2023 Edmonton Elks season was the 65th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 74th overall. After an 0–9 start to the season, the Elks were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention following their week 18 loss to the Toronto Argonauts. Taylor Cornelius (born September 16, 1995) is a professional gridiron football quarterback for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Oklahoma State. The Saskatchewan Roughriders are a professional Canadian football team based in Regina, Saskatchewan. The Edmonton Elks season was the 63rd season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 72nd overall. This was the first season that the team competed under a new name, as the "Eskimos" moniker was retired in 2020, and the new name "Elks" was announced on June 1, 2021.
