Tanjong Datu is a state constituency in Sarawak, Malaysia, that has been represented in the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly since 1991. The state constituency was created in the 1987 redistribution and is mandated to return a single member to the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly under the first past the post voting system. Sarawak
Sarawak (; ) is a States and federal territories of Malaysia, state of Malaysia. The Sarawak Parties Alliance (Malay: ''Gabungan Parti Sarawak''; abbrev: GPS) is a Sarawak-based national political alliance in Malaysia. Jamilah Anu
Jamilah binti Anu ( Jawi: جميلة بنت آنو; born 14 August 1955) is a Malaysian politician who served as Member of Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Tanjong Datu from March 2017 to December 2021. She is also the widow and the second wife of fifth Chief Minister of Sarawak, Adenan Satem. Politics In 2017, Jamilah was elected as the MLA of Tanjong Datu after she successfully defended the seat in the by-election triggered by the sudden demise of the incumbent MLA, who was also her husband Adenan Satem. Jamilah opted to retire after four years in politics and not run in the 2021 state election in order to give the responsibility of defending her seat to her son Azizul Annuar Adenan. 18th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly
The 18th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly was a term of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly, the legislative branch of the Government of Sarawak in Sarawak, Malaysia. The 18th Assembly consisted of 82 members that were elected in the 2016 state election and served from 7 June 2016 until 3 November 2021. The legislature would, in normal circumstances, have dissolved automatically at the expiration of the five-year term on 6 June 2021 per the Sarawak constitution, but it was overridden by an ongoing emergency declaration at the federal level arising from the 2020–21 Malaysian political crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia. Adenan Satem
Pehin Sri Tan Sri Haji Adenan bin Haji Satem ( ms, حاج عدنان بن حاج صتيم , label= Jawi, script=arab, italic=unset; 27 January 1944 – 11 January 2017), popularly known as Tok Nan, was a Malaysian politician who served as the fifth chief minister of Sarawak from March 2014 to his death in January 2017.
