Tanit D'or
The Tanit d'or is the grand prize of the Carthage Film Festival, hosted annually in Tunisia. The award is named for the lunar goddess of ancient Carthage and takes the shape of her symbol, a triangle surmounted by a horizontal line and a circle. Tug Of War (2021 Film)
''Tug of War'' (original title: Vuta N'Kuvute) is a 2021 Tanzanian coming-of-age political drama about love and resistance set in the final years of British colonial Zanzibar. The film was directed by Amil Shivji based on the award-winning novel of the same name by Adam Shafi. ''Tug of War'' is Tanzania's second entry ever, and its first in 21 years, for the Academy Award Best International Feature category. In November 2022, it was awarded the Tanit d'Or, the top prize at Tunisia's Carthage Film Festival. Mahmoud Ben Mahmoud
Mahmoud Ben Mahmoud (born in 1947, Tunis) is a Tunisian film writer and producer. Biography Mahmoud was born in 1947 in Tunis, Tunisia, to a family of Turkish origin who had settled in Tunisia in 1710. His father was a theologian and amateur artist and writer, which, to an extent, influenced the personality of the young Mahmoud. He studied at the INSAS Belgian school of cinema where he completed his graduation in field of filming. Later, he studied art history, archeology and journalism at the Free University of Brussels (ULB). These multidisciplinary studies gave him a solid training to face the field of cinema. Ahmad Abdalla El Sayed Abdelkader ( ar, أحمد عبد الله السيد) (born on December 19, 1979, Cairo) is an Egyptian film director, editor and screenwriter. His debut feature film is ''Heliopolis (2009 film), Heliopolis'' (2009); his second film is ''Microphone (film), Microphone'' (2010). Nouri Bouzid (born 1945) is a Tunisian film director and screenwriter. He has directed seven films between 1986 and 2006. His film ''Man of Ashes'' was screened in the Un Certain Regard section the 1986 Cannes Film Festival. Three years later, his film '' Golden Horseshoes'' was screened in the same section at the 1989 festival.
