Ayumi Tanimoto
born August 4, 1981, in Anjo, Aichi, is a Japanese judoka. She was coached by Toshihiko Koga, who is a gold medalist at the Barcelona Olympics and a silver medalist at the Atlanta Olympics Men's Judo. Tanimoto won the Women's -63 kg category gold medal at the Athens Olympics in 2004 and at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. In September 2005, she won the silver medal at the World judo championship games in Cairo, Egypt. Retirement Tanimoto retired from competitive judo in September 2010. In 2015, she became the assistant manager of Komatsu's judo club. For the Rio 2016 Olympics, she was a coach for the women's judo team. She is completing a postgraduate degree at Hirosaki University, and listed as a women's junior coach for the All Japan Judo Federation. Kiyoshi Tanimoto
was a Methodist minister famous for his work for the Hiroshima Maidens. He was one of the six Hiroshima survivors whose experiences of the bomb and later life are portrayed in John Hersey's book '' Hiroshima''. The 1985 edition contains an updated chapter. Biography Tanimoto converted to Christianity in his youth, opposed by his Buddhist father. He studied at the Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Georgia, on an international Methodist scholarship. Ordained a minister at Emory University in 1940, he served in churches in California, Okinawa and then Hiroshima. After the war he went on extensive speaking tours of the US, raising funds for his project of a Hiroshima peace center, and for the Hiroshima Maidens. Larry Tanimoto is an American administrator and politician. Tanimoto became the Mayor of Hawaii County in 1990 following the death of Mayor Bernard Akana. Tanimoto became the managing director of Mayor Bernard Akana's administration following the departure of Akana's previous director, Susan Labrenz. Mayor Akana died of stomach cancer on April 12, 1990, at the age of 70. Tanimoto became the interim Mayor of Hawaii upon Akana's passing. He held the mayoral office for eight months until a special election could be held to fill the remainder of Akana's unexpired term. Democrat Lorraine Inouye won the special election to succeed Akana and Tanimoto in 1990. He defeated fellow Democrat Stephen K.
