Tampines ( or ) is the Regional centre (Singapore), regional centre of the East Region, Singapore, East Region of Singapore. With a population of 284,560 living across its five subzones as of 2024, it is the most populous Planning Areas of Singapore, planning area in Singapore. It is home to approximately 5% of Singapore's population. Tampines is bordered to the west by Bedok and Paya Lebar, to the north by Pasir Ris, to the east by Changi, and to the south by the Singapore Strait, Straits of Singapore. Situated in the historical region of Tanah Merah, Singapore, Tanah Merah, its present-day terrain is particularly flat due to the large-scale sand quarrying in the 1960s. Tampines Group Representation Constituency
The Tampines Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the eastern region of Singapore. The GRC encompasses Tampines and is managed by the Tampines Town Council, with five divisions: Tampines East, Tampines West, Tampines Central, Tampines North and Tampines Boulevard. The current members of Parliament are Baey Yam Keng, Masagos Zulkifli, Koh Poh Koon, David Neo and Charlene Chen from the People's Action Party (PAP). Constituencies in Singapore are electoral divisions which may be represented by single or multiple seats in the Parliament of Singapore. Constituencies, also called the Divisions, are classified as either Single Member Constituencies (SMCs) or Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs). Tampines Eco Green
Tampines Eco Green is a park in Tampines, Singapore. It is bordered by Tampines Expressway, Tampines Avenue 12 and the Sungei Tampines canal. The park was opened to the public in April 2011. The 36 hectares park consist of open grasslands, freshwater wetlands and a secondary rainforest and is linked by park connectors from Sun Plaza Park. The East Region (, zh, 東區, ) of Singapore is one of the five regions in the city-state. The region is the 2nd most densely populated among the five, and has the smallest land area. Bedok is the region's most populous town and Tampines is the regional centre of the area. The Aljunied Group Representation Constituency is a five-member group representation constituency (GRC) in the north-eastern and eastern region of Singapore. It consists of a large part of Hougang (excluding Hougang SMC), Paya Lebar, Serangoon Gardens, the southern half of Serangoon North as well as a portion of Bedok.
