Awangbow Newmai
Awangbow Newmai is an Indian politician and the President of Naga People's Front State Unit in Manipur. He was elected to the Manipur Legislative Assembly from Tamei (Vidhan Sabha constituency), Tamei in 2007 Manipur Legislative Assembly election, 2007 as an Independent Candidate and as Naga People's Front Candidate in 2017 Manipur Legislative Assembly election, 2017, and 2022 Manipur Legislative Assembly election. In 2022 March 21 he was sworn in Second Biren Singh ministry, N. Biren Singh Second ministry as Minister for Water Resources and Relief & Disaster Management. 2012 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election
The 2012 Manipur Legislative Assembly election was held in Indian state of Manipur in Feb-March 2012, to elect 60 members to the Manipur Legislative Assembly. Results The Voter turnout was 79.19%. Congress won majority of the seats. Incumbent Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh was re-elected for the post. In 2014, the Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) merged with the Indian National Congress which raised the number of INC MLAs to 47. 2022 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election
Legislative Assembly elections were held in Manipur from 28 February to 5 March 2022 in two phases, to elect 60 members of the Manipur Legislative Assembly. The results declared on 10 March 2022. The newly constituted assembly was named 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly. Background The tenure of Manipur Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on 19 March 2022. The previous assembly elections were held in March 2017. After the election, coalition of Bharatiya Janata Party, National People's Party, Naga People's Front and Lok Janshakti Party formed the state government, with N. Biren Singh becoming Chief Minister.
