Tambor is a town in Costa Rica. Geography Tambor is located in the portion of the Nicoya Peninsula that is located in the Province of Puntarenas. Within that province it is located in the cantón of the same name in the district of Cóbano. Tambor is located on the Panica River, which flows from Bahia Ballena. Tambor Airport is an airport serving Tambor, Costa Rica. The airport also serves tourist destinations like Mal Pais, Santa Teresa, Montezuma, and the Cabo Blanco Absolute Natural Reserve. Tambor airport is the sixth-busiest airport in Costa Rica, and the fourth busiest domestic-only after Puerto Jiménez, Quepos and Tamarindo airports. Jeffrey Michael Tambor (born July 8, 1944) is an American actor. He is known for his television roles such as Jeffrey Brookes, the uptight neighbor of Stanley and Helen Roper in the television sitcom ''The Ropers'' (1979–1980), as Hank Kingsley on ''The Larry Sanders Show'' (1992–1998), George Bluth Sr. and Oscar Bluth on ''Arrested Development'' (2003–2006, 2013, 2018–2019) and Maura Pfefferman on ''Transparent'' (2014–2017). ''Tambor'' is an orchestral composition in one movement by the American composer Joan Tower. The work was commissioned by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and was composed between September 1997 and February 1998. It was first performed on May 7, 1998, by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under the conductor Mariss Jansons. The piece is dedicated Robert Moir, then artistic director for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Composition ''Tambor'' has a duration of roughly 15 minutes and is composed in a single movement. The title of the piece comes from the Spanish language word for drum, "tambor." Tower's family moved to Bolivia during her youth and she there developed an affinity for percussion instruments. USS Tambor (SS-198)
USS ''Tambor'' (SS-198), the lead ship of her class of submarine, was the only ship of the United States Navy to be named for the tambor. Her keel was laid down on 16 January 1939 by the Electric Boat Company in Groton, Connecticut. She was launched on 20 December 1939 sponsored by Miss Lucia Ellis, and commissioned on 3 June 1940. After fitting out at New London, ''Tambor'' got underway on 6 August 1940 for her shakedown cruise which took her to New York City, Washington, D.C., Morehead City, North Carolina, and Houston, Texas. Following further training off Colón, Panama, the submarine returned to New London, Connecticut, before holding her acceptance trials and undergoing a post-shakedown overhaul at the Portsmouth Navy Yard in Kittery, Maine. Tambor Williams (born March 28, 1941) is an American politician. She served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1997 until 2004, and was the Republican nominee for Lieutenant Governor of Colorado in 2010. Biography Williams was born in Washington, D.C. in 1941. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Queens College in 1962, a Master of Arts from Western State College of Colorado in 1971, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado Law School in 1982. Prior to law school, Williams worked as a teacher, school counselor, and university administrator. Williams registered as a Democrat for a short time, as her partner was running for sheriff as a Democrat. Williams was elected as a Republican to the Colorado House of Representatives in 1996, from Weld County.
