Tamara Grigsby
Tamara D. Grigsby (November 19, 1974 – March 14, 2016) was an American social worker, academic, and politician who served as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly by representing the 18th Assembly District from 2005 until 2013. Early life and education Born in Pullman, Washington, Grigsby graduated from James Madison Memorial High School in Madison, Wisconsin. She received her bachelor's degree from Howard University and received her master's degree from University of Wisconsin–Madison in social work. Career Grigsby taught at University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, Carroll University, and Cardinal Stritch University and was a social worker and family counselor. Grigsby was first elected to the Assembly in 2004 to succeed fellow Democrat Lena Taylor, winning the September Democratic primary election by an absolute majority (3,231 votes to 1,820 for her two opponents), and facing no opposition in the general election. Wisconsin Assembly, District 18
The 18th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district is entirely contained within the boundaries of the city of Milwaukee in central Milwaukee County. It comprises neighborhoods of Milwaukee's west side, including Washington Heights and Sherman Park. It includes landmarks such as the Miller Brewing Company and Washington Park. WTMJ-TV (channel 4) is a television station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States, affiliated with NBC. It is owned by the E. W. Scripps Company alongside Kenosha-licensed Ion Television station WPXE-TV (channel 55). WTMJ-TV's studios are located on Capitol Drive (WIS 190) in Milwaukee (an Art Deco facility that is known as "Radio City", in tribute to the New York complex of the same name), and its transmitter is located approximately north of downtown Milwaukee.
