Taman, Russia
Taman (russian: Тамань) is a rural locality (a ''stanitsa'') in Temryuksky District of Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the coast of the Taman Bay. It is the administrative center of the Taman rural settlement. Its population was recorded at 9,417 people (2020), and History Taman occupies the site of the ancient cities of Hermonassa and Tmutarakan. From the end of the 15th century until 1783, this was a site of a Turkish fortress. Before the annexation it was a sanjak subordinate to the eyalet of Kaffa. The modern ''stanitsa'' was founded by the Zaporozhian Cossacks under Anton Golovaty on August 25, 1792 as the latter's residence and the first garrison of the Black Sea Cossack Host. Until 1849, Taman was officially considered to be a town, even though it had no local government of its own and was governed from the nearby ''stanitsa'' of Akhtanizovskaya. ''Panicum turgidum'' is an old world clumping desert bunchgrass of the genus ''Panicum''. It is a plant of arid regions across Africa and Asia, and has been introduced to other parts of the world. Description ''Panicum turgidum'' is a perennial bunchgrass, growing in dense bushes up to tall. The stems are long-jointed, hard and polished, with few leaves, resembling bamboo shoots. Side shoots branch out at the nodes, and the stems bend over and root when the nodes get buried. The inflorescence is a terminal panicle up to long with solitary spikelets some long. The roots are covered in hairs to which fine sand adheres creating a felted appearance. This is a drought- and salt-tolerant species, and used for flour, fodder, thatch and erosion control. The Taman Bay (Russian: Таманский залив) is a shallow bay or gulf on the east coast of the Strait of Kerch shaped on the southern side by the Tuzla Spit and to the north by the Chushka Spit. It dips into the Taman Peninsula of Krasnodar Krai, Russia for about 16 km. The bay is 8 km wide at its mouth and is up to 5 metres deep. Overseas Union Garden is a main township in the Seputeh constituency in south-western Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Situated mainly atop a hill, this township is located along Old Klang Road roughly halfway between Kuala Lumpur and Subang Jaya, and was opened in the mid 1970s.
