Tamaki Kawakubo
(born October 10, 1979) is a Japanese-American violinist. A recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant, she won the Silver Medal at the 2002 International Tchaikovsky Competition and the First Prize at the 2001 Sarasate International Violin Competition. Early years Tamaki was born in Palos Verdes, California. She began violin studies at the age of five in Los Angeles. She studied with Robert Lipsett at the Colburn School in Los Angeles. Following this she studied with Dorothy DeLay and Masao Kawasaki at the Juilliard School of performing arts. In 1997, she received an Avery Fisher Career Grant and moved to Zürich to study with Zakhar Bron. Career Kawakubo won the Silver Medal, ''ex aequo'', at the 2002 International Tchaikovsky Competition. This was the highest prize awarded that year. Eos Orchestra
In ancient Greek mythology and religion, Eos (; Ionic and Homeric Greek ''Ēṓs'', Attic ''Héōs'', "dawn", or ; Aeolic ''Aúōs'', Doric ''Āṓs'') is the goddess and personification of the dawn, who rose each morning from her home at the edge of the river Oceanus to deliver light and disperse the night. The Red Violin
''The Red Violin'' (french: Le Violon Rouge) is a 1998 drama film directed by François Girard and starring Samuel L. Jackson, Carlo Cecchi and Sylvia Chang. It spans four centuries and five countries as it tells the story of a mysterious red-coloured violin and its many owners. The instrument, made in Cremona in 1681 with a future forecast by tarot cards, makes its way to Montreal in 1997, where an appraiser identifies it and it goes to auction. The film was an international co-production among companies in Canada, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Stradivarius
A Stradivarius is one of the violins, violas, cellos and other string instruments built by members of the Italian family Stradivari, particularly Antonio Stradivari (Latin: Antonius Stradivarius), during the 17th and 18th centuries. They are considered some of the finest instruments ever made, and are extremely valuable collector's items. According to their reputation, the quality of their sound has defied attempts to explain or equal it, though this belief is disputed. The many blind experiments from 1817 to as recently as 2014 have found no difference in sound between Stradivari's violins and high-quality violins in comparable style of other makers and periods, nor has acoustic analysis. La Cathedrale (Stradivarius Violin)
is a 1707 violin made by Antonio Stradivari. The ''Associated Press'' reported that the instrument was named ''La Cathedrale'' for the "majesty of its tone". It fetched a record $483,000 at Sotheby's auction in 1984, the highest for any musical instrument sold at auction until ''The Colossus'' Stradivarius was purchased by Luigi Alberto Bianchi for $726,000 in 1987. Nigel Kennedy played ''La Cathedrale'' early in his career, but later purchased the ''Lafont'', an instrument made by Guarneri del Gesù. For a time ''La Cathedrale'' was part of the Mandell Collection; antique violins from this collection were loaned to young students. The , also known as Tokyō (都響), is one of the representative symphony orchestras of Japan. The Orchestra was founded in 1965 by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, to commemorate the Tokyo Olympics (1964 Summer Olympics).
