Talvin Hester
Talvin Hester (born July 16, 1978) is an American basketball coach who is the current head coach of the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs men's basketball team. Playing career Hester played a single season of college basketball at Dallas Christian College. Coaching career In 2002, Hester began his coaching career at North Lake College as an assistant coach, while also serving on the staff of the Texas Rim Rockers of the USBL. He'd move on to serve as an assistant coach at Texas Wesleyan, where he'd earn his degree, and a year later, would join the coaching staff at Texas College. Hester would get his start in the Division I ranks at Prairie View A&M on the staffs of both Darrell Hawkins and Byron Rimm II from 2005 to 2010, before moving on to San Jose State as an assistant. After two seasons with the Spartans, Hester would return to Texas and have two single-season stops at both Stephen F. Darrell Hawkins
Darrell Hawkins (born October 30, 1969) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. He played college basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Hawkins played professionally in the United States, Europe and China. Early life Hawkins was born in Houston and raised in Prairie View, Texas. He attended Waller High School and earned all-state honors when he averaged 27.0 points and 15.0 rebounds per game during his senior season. Playing career Hawkins played for the Arkansas Razorbacks from 1988 to 1993. He tore his Achilles tendon four games into the 1990–91 season and missed the rest of the season. On March 6, 1991, Hawkins was suspended by head coach Nolan Richardson for the first three games of the 1991–92 season when he had a woman in his athletic dorm. 2022–23 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs basketball team represented Louisiana Tech University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by first-year head coach Talvin Hester, and played their home games at Thomas Assembly Center in Ruston, Louisiana as a members of Conference USA. Previous season The Bulldogs finished the 2021–22 season 24–10, 12–6 in C-USA play to finish third place in the West Division. They defeated Marshall, Western Kentucky, North Texas to advance to the championship game of the C-USA tournament where they lost to UAB. Despite having 24 wins, they were not invited to a postseason tournament. On March 22, 2022, head coach Eric Konkol left the school to accept the head coaching position at Tulsa. Tulsa Golden Hurricane Men's Basketball
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's basketball team represents the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. The team participates in the American Athletic Conference. The Golden Hurricane are led by head coach Eric Konkol, hired from Louisiana Tech on March 21, 2022 to replace Frank Haith who had resigned. The team has long been successful, especially since the hiring of Nolan Richardson in 1980. Mark Adams (born May 14, 1956) is an American college basketball coach who was most recently the coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders men's basketball team. Coaching career After playing basketball at South Plains College, Adams transferred to Texas Tech, where he served as a student assistant to head coach Gerald Myers. After graduating from Texas Tech in 1979, Adams landed his first college coaching job at Clarendon College, where he stayed for two seasons and posted 46 victories. From 1983 to 1987 he served as the head coach at Wayland Baptist, where went 100–39 overall and led the Pioneers to the 1985 NAIA title game. Adams would move on to become the head coach at West Texas A&M where he'd guide the Buffaloes to two NCAA Division II tournament appearances and compile an overall record of 108–40. 2021 National Invitation Tournament
The 2021 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 16 NCAA Division I men's college basketball teams that had not been selected to participate in the 2021 NCAA tournament. The Tournament began on March 17 and ended on March 28. All rounds were played at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas or the UNT Coliseum in Denton, Texas. First-round games began on Wednesday, March 17, and was played through Saturday, March 20. Quarterfinals also took place Thursday, March 25. The semifinals and championship took place Saturday and Sunday, March 27 and 28. The 2021 tournament also featured a third-place game Sunday, March 28, which hadn’t been played at the NIT since 2003.
