Taltali ( bn, তালতলী) is an upazila of Barguna District in the division of Barisal, Bangladesh. History Taltali Upazila was established on 25 April 2012. It was previously part of Amtali Upazila. Geography Amtali is at . It covers an area of 258.94 km2 with the population of 88,004 people. It's literacy rate is 89%. It is by the Bay of Bengal. Barguna ( bn, বরগুনা ''Borguna'') is a district in the Barisal Division, division of Barisal, Bangladesh. It is situated in the southern part of Bangladesh. Barguna subdivision was established in 1969 and promoted to district on 28 February 1984. History Barguna district was in the Sundarbans, Sundarban area. Union council ( bn, ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ, translit=iūniyan pariṣad, translit-std=IAST), also known as union parishad, rural council, rural union and simply union, is the smallest rural administrative and local government unit in Bangladesh. Each union council is made up of nine wards. Usually one village is designated as a ward. There are 4,562 unions in Bangladesh.
