Talmage (variant, Talmadge) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Mendocino County, California, United States. Talmage is located east-southeast of Ukiah, at an elevation of . The population was 986 at the 2020 census, down from 1,130 in 2010. It lies in the southeastern part of the Ukiah Valley and is home to the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, one of the largest Chan Buddhist temples in the United States. Talmadge is a neighborhood of the mid-city region of San Diego, California. Its borders are defined by Fairmount Avenue to the West, Montezuma Road/Collwood Boulevard to the Northeast, and El Cajon Boulevard to the South. It is named after the Talmadge sisters (Norma, Natalie and Constance), who were silent film stars. In 1927, the Talmadge sisters opened the Talmadge Park real estate development, which contains streets named for each of the sisters. The architecture in Talmadge is eclectic, with styles including Spanish Revival, California bungalows, Cape Cod cottages and Normandy Style homes. The Talmadge Memorial Bridge is a bridge in the United States spanning the Savannah River between downtown Savannah, Georgia, and Hutchinson Island. It carries US 17/ SR 404 Spur. The original bridge was built in 1953; a replacement bridge was completed in 1991, also referred to as the Talmadge Memorial Bridge. History The original Talmadge bridge was a cantilever truss bridge built in 1953. It eventually became a danger for large ships entering the Port of Savannah, home to the largest single ocean container terminal on the U.S. eastern seaboard, and the nation's fourth-busiest seaport. The Talmadge
The Talmadge is a historic brick residential building in Los Angeles, California and which bears the name of silent film actress Norma Talmadge. History A house owned by Earle C. Anthony, built in 1909, was moved to Beverly Hills, California for the 1923 construction of this building. Upon its completion in 1924, it was owned by movie studio executive Joseph M. Schenck and his wife, silent actress Norma Talmadge, who was its namesake. It was designed in the style by William and Alexander Curlett & Claud Beelman. Initially, Schenck and Talmadge resided on the 10th floor. The rest of the tenants were socialites and heirs. The Talmadge was used as a filming location for a couple of Buster Keaton films. Mr. Keaton was married to Natalie Talmadge, the sister of Ms. Talmadge. Mr. Schenck was, at the time, producing Mr. Keaton's films.
