Tally-ho is the traditional cry made by the huntsman to tell others the quarry has been sighted. It may also be used with directions, including "away" and "back". First used in fox-hunting, it was adapted in the 19th century to describe some horse-drawn vehicles and in the 20th century to advise of enemy aircraft and space junk. Tally-Ho Plantation House
Tally-Ho Plantation House, is a historic mansion located along River Road in Bayou Goula, Louisiana. Iberville Parish records show that Tally-Ho site was owned by Jean Fleming, a free man of color, sometime before 1835. There were several more owners after Fleming. John Dobbins Murrell, a slaveholder from Virginia bought the plantation in 1848, and it has remained in the family ever since. The home is said to have been moved back from the Mississippi River twice and the main house burned in 1945. The name Tally Ho is said to reflect Murrell's fox-hunting background. Tally Ho Township is in Granville County, North Carolina. It is near Stem, North Carolina. There is a Tall Ho Road and a Tally Ho Missionary Baptist Church and cemetery. The area was used by fox hunters and named for their rallying cry. William Webb settled in the area in 1776. Forlorn Hope Lodge was located in Tally Ho. A post office was established in Tally Ho in 1830. It was relocated to Stem in 1889. Governor William Woods Holden received a petition from residents who experienced Ku Klux Klan violence. Marion Post Wolcott took photographs of people living in the area during the Great Depression including African American tenant farmers eating after their white neighbors had finished. Burwood East is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located 17 km east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Whitehorse local government area. Burwood East recorded a population of 10,675 at the 2021 census. Aladdin (hotel And Casino)
The Aladdin was a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. Toy manufacturer Edwin S. Lowe originally opened the 450-room Tallyho Hotel on the property in 1962. The Tallyho was the only major hotel in Nevada to not include a casino; it closed at the end of the year and was sold to Kings Crown Inns of America, a hotel chain which reopened the property a month later as the King's Crown Tallyho. The company added a casino and showroom but plans to open the casino were halted when the Nevada Gaming Control Board declined to issue a gambling license because of concerns about the resort being inadequately financed. Milton Prell purchased the hotel and began an extensive $3 million renovation of the property before reopening it as the Aladdin on April 1, 1966. A 19-story hotel tower was added in 1976. The Clean was a New Zealand indie rock band that formed in Dunedin in 1978. ''Tally Ho'' is a gaff-rigged cutter yacht designed by the artist and yacht designer Albert Strange. The yacht was built at Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex in England and has previously carried the names ''Betty'', ''Alciope'', and ''Escape''. In 2017, the Albert Strange Association, then owners of the boat, sold it to an English boatbuilder to be completely refit. History Albert Strange is best known for the canoe yawl with a double-ended or canoe-stern hull and the two masts of the yawl rig. However, Strange designed ''Tally Ho'' with a transom stern and a cutter rig, which was an unusual design for him. Originally named ''Betty'', the boat was built in 1910 in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, England, by Stow & Son.
