Glenn Hughes (British Musician)
Glenn Hughes (born 21 August 1951) is an English bassist and singer, best known for playing bass and performing vocals in funk rock band Trapeze and in the Mk. III and IV line-ups of Deep Purple, as well as briefly fronting Black Sabbath in the mid-1980s. He is known by fans as "The Voice of Rock" due to his soulful and wide-ranging singing voice. In addition to being an active session musician, Hughes also maintains a notable solo career. He currently fronts the supergroups Black Country Communion and The Dead Daisies, and fronted California Breed from 2013 to 2015. In 2016, Hughes was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Deep Purple. Early life Hughes was born in Cannock, Staffordshire, England, on 21 August 1951. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Since the mid-1950s, the bass guitar has largely replaced the double bass in popular music. The four-string bass is usually tuned the same as the double bass, which corresponds to pitches one octave lower than the four lowest-pitched strings of a guitar (typically E, A, D, and G). Mic Michaeli
Gunnar Mathias "Mic" Michaeli (born 11 November 1962) is a Swedish musician best known as the keyboardist for the rock band Europe. Like many of the other Europe members he grew up in Stockholm suburb Upplands Väsby. He joined the band for their ''Wings of Tomorrow'' tour in 1984, taking vocalist Joey Tempest's place behind the keyboards. Career Michaeli has co-written several Europe songs; his most famous song is the hit ballad "Carrie" from the album '' The Final Countdown''. The song was co-written by Michaeli and Tempest and was Europe's biggest hit in the U.S., reaching number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Ian Haugland
Jan-Håkan "Ian" Haugland (born 13 August 1964) is the drummer in the Swedish rock band Europe. When he was eight months old, he and his family moved to the Stockholm suburb of Märsta, Sweden. He joined Europe in the summer of 1984, replacing Tony Reno. Previously Haugland had played in a number of bands, including Trilogy, where Candlemass bassist Leif Edling sang, and Yngwie J. Malmsteen's band Rising Force. After Europe went on hiatus in 1992, Haugland recorded and toured with bands like Brazen Abbot, Clockwise, Last Autumn's Dream, Europe colleague John Norum and former Black Sabbath / Deep Purple vocalist Glenn Hughes. John Levén
John Gunnar Levén (born 25 October 1963 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish bassist in the Swedish rock band Europe. Levén and vocalist Joey Tempest are the only band members who have performed on all of Europe's studio albums. Career When Levén was 7 years old, he and his family moved to the suburb Upplands Väsby, where several members of Europe grew up. He joined the band in 1981, replacing Peter Olsson. In 1985 Levén was the one who suggested that Tempest should write a song based on an old keyboard riff that the vocalist had written around 1981-82. The result was the song " The Final Countdown". Thomas Larsson
Thomas Larsson (born 1964 in Falun, Sweden) is a Swedish guitarist and songwriter, perhaps most famous for his work with singer Glenn Hughes and with the band Baltimoore. He has also released a few solo albums. Biography Larsson started playing the guitar at the age of twelve, after receiving his first guitar as a gift from his parents for his twelve birthday. He would join his first serious band at the age of 17 in 1982, Six Feet Under (not to be confused with the American band of the same name), which also featured future Baltimoore bandmate Björn Lodin. The band dissolved after two albums in 1994. JJ Marsh
Joakim "JJ" Marsh, born in 1966 is a Swedish guitarist and composer, and is probably best known for his long collaboration with Glenn Hughes. As a teenager Marsh recorded two albums with Spellbound, ''Breaking the Spell'' and ''Rockin 'Reckless''. The band also recorded material for a third album, for which Marsh wrote the songs together with the singer Hasse Fröberg, but they didn't manage to get a record deal and the album wasn't released until some ten years later. Spellbound disbanded in 1988, but they have done a few reunion concerts since that, as late as 2014. In the early 1990s he formed the band Studfarm with singer Janne Hellman.
