Talismán Metro Station
Talismán is a station along Line 4 of the Mexico City Metro, located in Gustavo A. Madero borough. General information The station logo depicts a stylised image of a mammoth, with raised trunk and tusks. During the construction of this station, the fossilised remains of a mammoth (''Mammuthus meridionalis'') were dug up by an excavation crew. The fossil is now exhibited in a display in the station. The station was opened on 29 August 1981. ''Talismán'' also means "amulet", and an elephant with a raised trunk is considered a good luck symbol. This metro station, like others on Line 4, stands on Avenida Congreso de la Unión. The western exit is on the same block as Procter & Gamble Mexico's Talismán Plant, where soap products including Camay and Safeguard are produced. Camay
Camay is an American brand of bar soap owned by Unilever. It was introduced in 1926 by Procter & Gamble and was marketed as a "white, pure soap for women," as many soaps of the time were colored to mask impurities. Camay's slogan for many years was "Camay: the soap for beautiful women." It was later replaced with "For your most beautiful complexion at every age." In December, 2014, Procter & Gamble announced that it was selling Camay to Unilever. The transaction was completed in 2015, but Unilever had not yet announced when it would start producing Camay soap. Tepito
Tepito is a barrio located in Colonia Morelos in the Cuauhtémoc borough of Mexico City bordered by Avenida del Trabajo, Paseo de la Reforma, Eje 1 and Eje 2. Most of the neighborhood is taken up by the colorful tianguis, a traditional open-air market. Tepito's economy has been linked to the tianguis since pre-Hispanic times. Estimates of the area's population may vary from 38,000 to 120,000 residents, with an estimated 10,000 more who come in during the day to sell in the market. A pesero, combi, micro or microbús is a form of public transport, most commonly seen in Mexico City. Its name derives from the fact that in the beginning of this form of transport a flat fee of one peso was charged per ride (hence the name "pesero" which could be interpreted as "peso collector").
