Talgar District
Talğar District ( kk, Талғар ауданы, ) is a district of Almaty Region in Kazakhstan. The administrative center of the district is the town of Talǵar. Almaty Region
Almaty Region ( kk, Алматы облысы, Almaty oblysy; russian: Алматинская область, Almatinskaya oblast) is a region in Kazakhstan, located in the southeastern part of the country. Its capital, from 1997 to 2022 was the city of Taldykorgan. But with the creation of the new Jetysu Region in 2022, Taldykorgan was chosen to be its capital and the capital of Almaty region was moved to the city of Kunayev. Talgar ( kk, Талғар, translit=Talğar, ; russian: Талгар) is a town in Almaty Region, southeastern Kazakhstan. It is the administrative center of Talgar District. An ''akim'' ( kk, әкім, әкімдер / ''äkimder''; ky, аким; russian: аким) is the head of a local government in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Trans-Ili Alatau
Ile Alatau ( kk, Ile Alatauy, ''Іле Алатауы''), also spelt as Trans-Ili Alatau, is a part of the Northern Tian Shan mountain system (ancient Mount Imeon) in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. It is the northernmost mountain range of Tian Shan stretching for about with a maximal elevation of ( Talgar Peak). The term " Alatau" refers to a kind of mountain. The range is bounded from the north by the Ili Depression of the Ili River, hence the name. The former capital of Kazakhstan, Almaty, is located at the foot of the range. Talgar Peak
Peak Talgar ( kk, Талғар шыңы ''Talğar Şyñy''; russian: Пик Талгар, Pik Talgar) is a northern peak in the Tian Shan mountain range in Kazakhstan, named after Talgar river and city. It is the highest peak of the Trans-Ili Alatau. Due to its close proximity to the former capital of Kazakhstan, Almaty, it is a popular mountaineering destination. Sources differ on Peak Talgar's elevation, but the 4,979 m height is widely quoted. The summit has precipitous slopes, especially in the west, crevasses and buttresses packed with snow and ice.
