Talent Associates
Talent Associates, Ltd. (also known as Talent Associates-Paramount, Ltd. and Talent Associates-Norton Simon, Inc.), was a production company headed by David Susskind, later joined by Daniel Melnick, Leonard Stern and Ron Gilbert. Origins In the years after World War II, Susskind was a talent agent for Century Artists, ultimately ending up in the powerhouse Music Corporation of America's fairly newly minted television program department, managing Dinah Shore, Jerry Lewis, and others. He then went to New York and formed Talent Associates, representing creators of material rather than performers. Susskind converted Talent Associates into a packaging company for new programs in 1952. Time-Life Television
Time Life Television was a division of Time Life Films and was the television production and distribution arm of Time Inc. With CBS, they led a partnership to export their shows overseas. Broadcasting Time Life also owned several radio and TV stations in the United States beginning in the 1950s through to 1983. By 1970, Time decided to sell its broadcasting operations and to concentrate in cable development. Time-Life's television stations were sold to McGraw-Hill in early 1972 following FCC approval. ''Jamie'' is a sitcom television series, created by David Susskind's Talent Associates, that was telecast Live television, live in the United States of America by American Broadcasting Company, ABC-TV from October 5, 1953, until October 4, 1954. It aired live in black-and-white on ABC in the 7:30 pm Monday timeslot. History The series was the result of the success of the television pilot, pilot, the episode "Jamie" of ''Plymouth Playhouse, ABC Album/Plymouth Playhouse''. It was broadcast on April 26, 1953. The pilot cast would return for the series, except that of Eva Marie Saint who would be replaced by Kathleen Nolan. Cicely Louise Tyson (December 19, 1924January 28, 2021) was an American actress. In a career which spanned more than seven decades in film, television and theatre, she became known for her portrayal of strong African-American women. ''East Side/West Side'' is an American drama series starring George C. Scott, Elizabeth Wilson, Cicely Tyson, and, later on, Linden Chiles. The series aired for one season (1963–1964), and was shown Monday nights on CBS. Set in New York City, the show explored issues of urban life, some of them grim. Ernest Truex (September 19, 1889 – June 26, 1973) was an American actor of stage, film, and television. Career Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Truex learned acting at an early age after his father, a doctor, treated actor Edwin Melvin, who paid his bill by giving the son elocution lessons. He started acting at age five and toured through Missouri at age nine as "The Child Wonder in Scenes from Shakespeare".
