Taleb Larbi District is a district of El Oued Province, Algeria. As of the 2008 census, it has a population of 15,130. It is the largest district by area, but the smallest by population, in the province. Its three communes have the highest population growth rates in the province. Algeria, since December 18, 2019, is divided into 58 wilaya, wilayas (province, provinces). Prior to December 18, 2019, there were 48 provinces. The 58 provinces are divided into 1,541 baladiyahs (Municipalities of Algeria, municipalities). The name of a province is always that of its capital city. El Oued Province
El Oued ( ar, ولاية الوادي, ber, ⴻⵍ oⵓⴻⴷ) is a Saharan province of Algeria (n° 39) dominated by '' Oued Souf''. It was named after its eponymous capital. Notable towns include El Oued itself and El M'Ghair, Djamaa and Guemar. Geography Physical geography El Oued Province lies in the Sahara desert in northeast Algeria. The mostly uninhabited southern half of the province is covered by the Grand Erg Oriental, a vast region of uninterrupted sand dunes. The northern half of the province is a mixture of sandy desert with scarce vegetation, scattered oases, and salt lakes. The most notable oases are the Oued Souf region, upon which the capital El Oued and neighbouring towns are built, as well as oases located near the towns of El M'Ghair and Djamaa, both of which support extensive palm plantations. Taleb Larbi ( ar, ﻃﺎﻟﺐ اﻟﻌﺮﺑﻲ) is a town and commune, and capital of Taleb Larbi District, El Oued Province, Algeria. According to the 2008 census it has a population of 7,074, up from 3,582 in 1998, with an annual of growth rate of 7.2% per year, the second highest in the province. Transportation Taleb Larbi is just from the border with Tunisia along the N48. To the west, the N48 meets the N16, which leads west to El Oued and Touggourt and north to Tébessa. According to the 2008 census it has a population of 2,513, up from 1,036 in 1998, with an annual growth rate of 9.5%, the highest in the province. Climate Ben Guecha has a hot desert climate (Köppen climate classification ''BWh''), with very hot summers and mild winters, and very little precipitation throughout the year. Transportation The town of Ben Guecha lies in the isolated far north-eastern corner of El Oued Province. A local road leads to the N16 which connects El Oued to Tebessa.
