Talea (film)
''Talea'' is a 2013 Austrian coming-of-age drama film written and directed by Katharina Mückstein in her feature film directorial debut. The film made its world premiere at the Max Ophüls Festival on 23 January 2013, where it won the Prize of the Minister President of the State of Saarland for Best Director. It was released in theaters in Austria by Filmdelights on 13 September 2013. The film received two nominations for the Austrian Film Award: Best Director and Best Screenplay. Plot It's Summertime in Austria and everyone is looking forward to their vacation in Italy. Everyone except 14-year-old Jasmin. She longs for her biological mother, Eva, who has just been released from prison. Jasmin runs away from her foster family and persuades Eva to go away with her. Katharina Mückstein
Katharina Mückstein (born 1982) is an Austrian film director, screenwriter and producer. Narrative films Mückstein wrote and directed include '' Talea'' (2013) and ''L'Animale'' (2018). She also wrote and produced the documentaries '' Three Farmers And A Son'' (2016), and '' Animals and Other People'' (2017). She won the Austrian Film Award for Best Documentary for ''Three Farmers And A Son'' in 2017. Early life Mückstein was born in Vienna in 1982 and grew up in Bad Vöslau. Her mother, Eva Mückstein, is a psychotherapist and politician of the Green Party of Austria. Her older brother, Wolfgang Mückstein, is a physician and politician who served as Minister of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection in Austria from 19 April 2021 until 8 March 2022. Diagonale
The Diagonale (Festival of Austrian Film) is a film festival that takes place every March in Graz, Austria. The festival was initially held under the auspices of the Austrian Film Commission in Salzburg from 1993 to 1995 but moved to Graz in 1998.
