Cordillera De Talamanca
The Cordillera de Talamanca is a mountain range that lies in the southeast half of Costa Rica and the far west of Panama. Much of the range and the area around it is included in La Amistad International Park, which also is shared between the two countries. This range in the south of Costa Rica stretches from southwest of San José to beyond the border with Panama and contains the highest peaks of both Costa Rica and Panama, among them Cerro Chirripó at 3,820 m, and the more accessible high peak of Cerro de la Muerte. Much of the Caribbean areas of the range are still unexplored. Exploration and classification The range is covered by the Talamancan montane forests to elevations of approximately 3,000 m. Much of it is covered by rainforests. Above elevations of 1,800 m these are dominated by huge oak trees (''Quercus costaricensis''). Kingdom Of Talamanca
The Kingdom of Talamanca was a political entity existing during the historic period covered from the Executive Decree issued by the Costa Rican government on July 25, 1867, recognizing the Talamanca indigenous monarchs as "political chiefs" of the region, until the death of their last king Antonio Saldaña in 1910, apparently poisoned, and who died without heirs thus putting an end to the line of succession. History The region of Talamanca was populated mainly by natives of the Bribris, Cabécares, Teribes, Changuinolas and Borucas ethnic groups and was never completely defeated by the Spanish conquerors. That is why the political dominance of the Costa Rican central government was little more than symbolic. Successive indigenous revolts happened in the area including those of the terbis (1544), chánguinas (1610), urinamas (1678) and tariacas (1709). Talamanca (canton)
Talamanca is a canton in the Limón province of Costa Rica. The head city is Bribri, located in Bratsi district. History Talamanca was created on 20 May 1969 by decree 4339. Geography Talamanca has an area of km² and a mean elevation of metres. The county is noted for its beautiful beaches, especially in Cahuita and Puerto Viejo, which are popular tourist locations. Talamanca contains one of Costa Rica's three official border-crossing points with Panamá, the Sixaola-Guabito crossing. Matthew James Burns (born 31 October 1985) is a Scottish record producer, songwriter, and DJ. His recent writing and production credits include Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Liam Payne, Little Mix, Louis Tomlinson, Pitbull, Ellie Goulding, Kacy Hill, Ariana Grande, Anitta, and others. Early life Burns' mother was an artist and painter, and his father was a professional heavyweight boxer. Burns began making music at the age of twelve, playing guitar and keyboards before discovering sampling as a teenager. At the age of 15, Burns started producing his own tracks, combining sound hardware from the seventies and eighties with modern music software and samples. Alessandro Figà Talamanca (born in Rome, 25 May 1938) is an Italian mathematician who has been given several prestigious tasks, both in Italy and abroad. Several times, he took part in managing the Italian University system, and shared his opinions in newspapers, such as ''La Repubblica. ''He was a close friend of Carlo Pucci, a mathematician who spent most of his energy in improving the method of teaching maths in Italy, and the management of Italian Maths Departments. (Pucci was, especially, the re-founder of the Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica Francesco Severi.) Tommy Talamanca
Tommy Talamanca is an Italian guitar virtuoso, keyboard player, and a sound engineer and producer, most famous for his work in Italian death metal band Sadist. He is notable for his ability as a music producer and engineer, but also for his talent of playing a six or seven string guitar and the key board simultaneously. Biography Talamanca started playing guitar at the age of 11. He joined a metal band Sadist (now one of the most famous Italian death metal bands) in 1991, and has been in the band ever since. He plays both guitar and keyboard simultaneously in the band. During his spare time he started a small analog recording studio in 1996, named Nadir Recording Studio.
