Talal Mansour
Talal Mansour Al-Rahim ( ar, طلال منصور, born May 8, 1964) is a retired Qatari sprinter who competed mainly in the 100 metres. He holds the Asian indoor record for 60 metres with 6.51 seconds. Early life and career Mansour was born in Qatar's capital city, Doha. His parents were nomads who had emigrated to Doha from the Rub' al Khali desert. He received limited education and as a result of few employment opportunities he joined the Qatar Armed Forces when he was 17 years old. From a young age, he participated in basketball, swimming and athletics. In 1983, when he was 19 years old, his coach Uli Kunst encouraged him to focus solely on athletics. Initially a high jumper, he adapted into a sprinter under Kunst's guidance. He participated in the 1985 Asian Athletics Championships, finishing in 4th place in the 100 metres category. Athletics is a group of sporting events that involves competitive running, jumping, throwing, and walking. Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe, formerly known as BW-Bank Meeting, is an annual indoor track and field competition which takes place in January or February in Karlsruhe, Germany. The meeting was first held at the Europahalle in 1985 and is currently a World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold-level event, the highest level of one-day indoor meeting in the World Athletics calendar. The athletics meeting is known for having strong fields in the short sprint events. The 2016 edition was part of the inaugural IAAF World Indoor Tour. 1992 Pan Arab Games
The 1992 Pan Arab Games was the seventh edition of the quadrennial multi-sport event between Arab nations. It was held in Damascus, Syria between September 4 and September 18, 1992. A total of 2611 athletes from 18 countries participated in events in 14 sports. The event was greatly affected by the 1991 Gulf War, and several players from many arab countries refused to participate in the Games. Iraq and Libya don't took part to the games.
