Takemitsuzamurai
is a Japanese historical samurai manga series written by Issei Eifuku and illustrated by Taiyō Matsumoto. It was published in Shogakukan's ''Big Comic Spirits'' ''seinen'' manga magazine, with its chapters collected in eight '' wideban'' volumes. Plot ''Takemitsu Zamurai'' follows the story of masterless samurai Senō Sōichirō. Publication ''Takemitsuzamurai'' is written by Issei Eifuku and illustrated by Taiyō Matsumoto. It was serialized in Shogakukan's ''seinen'' manga magazine ''Big Comic Spirits'' from 2006 to 2010. Shogakukan collected its chapters in eight '' wideban'' volumes, released from December 15, 2006, to April 28, 2010. The manga was licensed in Spain by Glénat. Taiyō Matsumoto
is a Japanese manga artist from Tokyo. He has won several awards, including the Shogakukan Manga Award, the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize and Eisner Award. ''Ping Pong'' and ''Blue Spring'' have been adapted into live-action feature films. Animation studio Studio 4°C adapted ''Tekkonkinkreet'' into an animated feature film, it was released in Japan in late 2006, and both the anime and manga have been published in English. He is the cousin of Santa Inoue, another manga artist. Career Matsumoto originally wanted to be a soccer player, but changed to artist as an occupation instead. After his initial success in the Comic Open contest, he began touring France in 1986, an event that became a significant point in his career. Japan Media Arts Festival Awards
The Japan Media Arts Festival is an annual festival held since 1997 by Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs. The festival begins with an open competition and culminates with the awarding of several prizes and an exhibition. Based on judging by a jury of artistic peers, awards are given in four categories: Art (formerly called Non-Interactive Digital Art), Entertainment (formerly called Interactive Art; including video games and websites), animation, and manga. Within each category, one Grand Prize, four Excellence Prizes, and (since 2002) one Encouragement Prize are awarded. Other outstanding works, are selected by the Jury as Jury Selections.
